So sad to hear, Dave. Your mum is a bonafide TLW Match report legend. I can't remember which players she had an irrational hatred of, but it always cracked me up reading about that.

EDIT: Reading back through the thread now, I can see that Thebitch already wrote the same thing almost word for word, but it came from the heart nonetheless!

2 minutes ago, lifetime fan said:

Lallana was my personal favourite.

Of course it was Lallana!

I always start to chuckle in anticipation when I get to a section where Dave mentions his parents in the reports. A bit like that recent Weekend round-up with the photo of the Everton-lad tied to the goalpost. I started laughing even before I opened the article. Sometimes it's even better when you know what's coming.

Oh mate. I’ve been away for a few days and only just seen this.

I feel like I know your mum and dad through your writing. I can’t say or do anything to help but the love you all have for one another is obvious through reading your stuff. Take care, you’re not walking alone. Love, Ste x

Take as long as you need, Dave lad.

I know your mum wouldn't want you to feel sad but grief has its own timeline. For now, focus on you and those around you until everything starts to settle. Everything else will still be here for when you return.

I know it's hard to talk about things at the moment but if you, your partner or your dad need to offload/scream/process everything, Cruse (Google Cruse Bereavement) have a helpline that's open during the day, 8pm some evenings.
