Speaking of Morrisons, when that one in Speke opened up about 15 years ago, the bakery, the hot food and the deli counters didn’t have a fucking clue what was gonna sell and what wasn’t. For the first six months, if you went in less than 30 mins before closing time, you could get some unbelievable bargains/whoopsies.

Whole cooked chicken - £1

Rack of ribs - 75p

Four pies - 50p

And loads more like it. It was fucking great.

Their deli (and fish) counters are superb. The best out of the supermarkets I reckon.

Top 5 favourite best before bargains…

Haha. Nah, I won’t eat food that is close to its use by date. I’m not one of those people whose philosophy is, “if it smells and looks ok, it must be ok”. I’d be up all night worrying about food poisoning.

It's hilarious when the whoopsie sticker gun comes out in the Asda by us.

You see loads of people waiting in the area where the stuff is laid out and it's a pensioners free for all.

The sudden turn of speed is amazing, nobody else stands a chance.

Think of a zombie feeding frenzy in The Walking Dead and you won't be far wrong and the looks someone gets if they pick something up that someone else has their eye on...

Never get in the way of a pensioner and a whoopsie, that's all I can say.

I've just cooked sausages with a use by date of yesterday, to hell with safety I'll let fate decide*

*until the morning when I'm shitting out my insides, wishing I'd heeded your advice.

My missus works in Asda and does that whoopsie gun thing most days. She comes home most days with her uniform covered in footprints! Forget the Serengeti, that is a true wildlife stampede.
