I didn’t fuck with the chalice dungeons too much but the dlc is a bump up in difficulty from the main game for sure.

Finally started this, magnificent game. Graphics are insanely good. Very satisfying combat.

Not getting on with this at all.

 

I'm fine with linear souls-like games, you follow a path kill enemies and move on but in an open world game I like to clear an area and move on knowing that it'll eventually re-populate but for 5 or 6 hours I can pass through knowing I've completed everything I need to complete.

 

What I don't want is to clear an area turn around and it's repopulated because I've had the audacity to level up or manage my inventory or continually have to fight the same boss as a result.

Slowly getting to grips with this and retraining my brain to accept areas are there to be farmed not cleared like other open world games.

 

Started as a Wretch and gone for a simple build putting all my level ups into Vigour, Endurance, Strength and Dexterity. 

 

At the point I am in the game alternating between dual wielding swords with the square off ability and occasionally switching to a brass shield and sword is working for everything I come up against although I'm guessing I'll have to re-spec at some point.
