Sounds churlish to say it after we’ve gone through, but that last 20 or so minutes was frustrating because we just switched off, got complacent and if it weren’t for Alisson we’d probably be playing extra time against a team with fuck all to lose and their tails up.

It shouldn’t happen when you’ve dominated play, scored two goals and looked all over that you’d get another two at least.

Anyway, through to the next round, hope we get a decent draw, love to see Chelsea get Everton!

Hmmm, that second half fizzled out quite badly or, did it just never really get going?

Nice consolation goal for Norwich and you could see it coming the way we'd decided the game was over and didnt really need to push on.

Would have been great if Taki could have got his hattrick but Im not certain he really got another chance in the 2nd half to score. Bottom line is we did enough to win the game and it looked like there was a lot of tired legs out there. OK these players dont play often so you could think they'd be able to run all day but playing infrequently, they wont be as match fit as the 'elite' first 11.

Div looked like he was desparate to score but wanted a touch too many. Ox unlucky not to score with that shot that hit the post and would have done his confidence a ton. Jota really should have done better with that header on the far post. I think the midfield was seriously weakened when young Morton came on. That's not a criticism of him, he's a young lad playing with the big boys.

Alli made a good save to deny Norwich an equaliser Im dont think they'd have deserved. Once again, Diaz just looks something else when he comes on, he looks so good.

Into the next round and await the draw.

Taki's too nice. That ball he got, when he decided to chip it across to Jota - there's no way Salah would have passed that when he was on zero, let alone on a hattrick! Great to see him grow in confidence, though.

We've got the best centre-back pairing in the league, the best pair of full- backs in the league, the best defensive midfielder in the league and the best goalscorer in the league. We gave them all the night off and still won.

We're good.

Indeed

I've been watching minamino all half as if it was sky playercam and he's been absolutely outstanding, passing, control, hold up play all been great, been making tonnes of good runs not picked up either.

We were saying much the same in the ground. If Virg had been at centre back Taki would have been in double figures.

For such a poor player we don't half miss Jordan Henderson when he is subbed. I thought Gomez was particularly ordinary again and think even Konate has gone above him in the pecking list already. Milner did ok and Taki just loves the cup games. The hanging on at the end was a bit unnecessary after such a dominant performance too.
