That's some lose Barca have taken.  £17m Villa have paid if Dembele leaves on a free that's the best part of a 1/4 billion they've said goodbye to.

Not sure what’s worse - that they are going to lose c.£250m on the pair or the lack of impact either of them delivered on the pitch.

Physio's can't be that bored they've got Fabinho keeping them company.

Much better ways to spend 100 million as well.

He doesn't seem to have injury issues?

On the £100m thing....

I don't think anyone pays it for him, and Conte has already made clear that Spurs need money to push on, they've had a new manager bounce but their problems will resurface without new investment.  They've already agreed to buy Kulusevski this summer, so that's already £25m spent.  You'd assume they'd also want to keep Romero, who is also on loan.  They'll be £40m+ down before they even begin to move forward.

Kane held out for City and he got burned.  Haaland has now completely ended that idea.

So, you're a 29 year old England international icon and you want to win a major domestic and European trophy before it's too late, and Man City is off the table.  Where do you go?

United?  Cutting it too fine, at least one wasted year to come, no guarantee of anything after that.

Chelsea?  Aside from the rivalry issue, they've already got a £100m central striker they can't use.  Also half their defence leaving this summer.

Arsenal?  Newcastle? Nope.

So onto the continent we go.  Does Kane strike you as the type of player to move abroad?  No, he wants the PL title.

So how much is he worth to us?

£70m plus a player would be my starting point, i could see Spurs being interested in Gomez and Elliott, I'd even be open to Jota.

What do we get?  We get someone who can play the Bobby role better than Bobby can.  We get instant media adoration.

We get refs giving us things.

We get assists plus goals.
