The Fall - Container Drivers

“And you get no thanks from the loading bay ranks” . Brilliant line. As anyone who has worked in a supermarket knows, the ongoing war between delivery drivers and warehouse staff is a bitter remorseless and merciless conflict, Sainsbury’s version of Stalingrad.

so is the second one...

My daddy was a barber
And a most unsightly man
He was born in Tuscaloosa
But he died right here in Birmingham

Ive not heard much of him, but after meeting a bird after many years i sent her that first one like a smitten teenager, as she was, and we both agreed it was to late for me, well both of us.

Maybe one for the regret department.

Son of a Preacher man.

I shot the Sheriff.

Taxi - Henry Chapin? Mentions a few.

Setting Fire to Policemen - Peter Sellers.

The Bold Gendarmes - Offenbach (a tune we're all familiar with).

Everything  The Police recorded.

The Laughing Policeman from a million years ago

Ghost Riders in the Sky  - cowpoke and cowboy.

Yes, but Stalingrad was a version of Kwiksave.

She was born in the wagon of a travellin' show
Her mama had to dance for the money they'd throw
Grandpa'd do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel
Sell a couple bottles of Doctor Good

Mother was a tailor, yeah, yeah
Sewed my Levi jeans
My father was a gamblin' man, yeah, yeah
Down, way down in New Orleans

And the singers in the chorus all got off on them singin' blues
And as the night grew older everybody was as one
The people on the streets came runnin' in to join in song
Just to hearing the opera singers singing rock and roll so pure
I thought I saw the mayor there
But I wasn't really sure
But it's alright

Saving nickles saving dimes
Working til the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times
On Blue Bayou
I'm going back someday
Come what may
To Blue Bayou
Where the folks are fun
And the world is mine
On Blue Bayou
Where those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
