Not only are we trying to play as if Mo and Sadio were out there, we've too many players getting in the way of each other. And instead of trying to walk the ball into the box all the time, take a fucking shot for a change.

 

It's a pity Trent doesnt give as much attention on his corners to beating the first man as he does to make sure a millimetre or two of the ball is on the quadrant line before he takes it.

I think we looked more likely to score when Arsenal had 11 still on the pitch. 

 

They've shut up shop after the red card and have defended well. Very compact and it looks like we need to play the perfect pass or cross to open them up. 

 

Maybe take one of the midfield 3 off for AOC or Jones to make it 3 behind the central forward. Set pieces haven't been good enough either. 

 

I think Arsenal's heads will go if we get an early goal in the second half. 

 

Either way, I can't see us being unable to win at the Emirates if that's what it comes down to.

We need the explosiveness of a Salah, Mane, Jota forward line to create something out of nothing. That's what we're pretty much reduced to. 

 

Our midfield has been shite for weeks, regardless of personnel. Zero creativity.

Errr, no. If Firmino wants to score a goal, that's cool too. But Jota is next up as a goalscorer after Salah at the club this season. So he should get his finger out and try to look threatening

Perversely the sending off was probably one of the worst things that could have happened so early. The Arse will now just play deep, fall down a lot and waste time. Without any space to run into there's only Bobby isolated while the other forwards seem drawn like magnets to where the defenders already are. 

 

Arteta has them drilled to expect certain patterns of play so we ought to be as imaginative and as quirky as possible. Matip may as well try some shots when he dribbles forwards rather than look for a pass, Virge and Fab ought to try the odd shot from outside the area and obviously we need Curtis on to move the ball around with a bit more vision.
