Welcome to Liverpool Luis Diaz

A couple of opinions from the Porto fans...

"literally the best player of the last 10 years. sold for almost a third of the value of João Felix."

"Sporting Lisbon sell their players for 60, or 120 million, but here? 45 million and our best player is gone, slapstick comedy. If he's to go at this ridiculous price at least force Liverpool to have to leave him here until the summer."

"As incompetent as our board is, I always thought that about 60 million plus 5-10 in add ons was the minimum to sell Diaz. Turns out, they managed to surprise me."

"I just want to let out a scream waking up the whole neighbourhood, fuck it, what a pain."

"Is this the way we're going to go? Are we possibly going to risk the season for 45 million?

Selling the best player in this league by far for a measly 45 million? Is João Feliz worth almost 3 Diaz's? In a year in which, although it is difficult to win the Europa League, we can have strong aspirations, are we going to give a shit about that and the possible strong financial income that winning the Europa could bring us? This direction is shit, but to be honest, this is just ridiculous, I've never felt so angry. We'll give up everything so Diaz can eat the bank for the rest of the season."

"As good as he is, a player who leaves mid-season because he prefers another club will never have my respect."

"These players these days don't have any backbones either. Leaving a team and a club (which gave him a lot) midway through a season in the name of a contract that was more than guaranteed in the summer shows a total lack of character. They are puppets of entrepreneurs. They don't deserve half the fawning they receive from the fans.

Edit: But this is an aside because, as I said in other comments, this situation is all the fault of the cancers who make these decisions and who accept us selling the club's best asset for a plate of lentils. It is upon them that the wrath of the fans must fall."

So they don't rate him them?

If we can keep Thiago fit, then IMO everything is possible.

But yes, a starting central midfielder needs to be the #1 priority in the summer.

I think we have to realise, hopefully the club has, that Thiago is a sicknote and getting him to play 3 or 4 games in a row is just how it will be. A luxury player to have available if and when fit. It's also obvious that Milner and Hendo's legs have gone and we need more energy in our midfield as Fabinho can't do it all on his own,as much as he tries to.

Sounds like there’s a possibility that he might see out the rest of this season at Porto even if we complete a deal according to O Jogo in Portugal. Maybe we’re getting him for slightly less money by agreeing to that?

Are we turning into the dumbest run club in the country.

Why the fuck are they signing a winger now when Salah and Mane are back soon.

Why aren't they buying a fucking replacement for Wijnaldum which has fucked us all season long.

Life must be shit living under that permanent rain cloud. Its a buy for the future and will also allow for rotation and injuries. Think a mfielder might be done in the summer.

His YouTube highlights are nothing on Milan Jovanovic's but he could do a job.

Loves his Cruyff turn.

Please say it ain’t so. €45m plus €15m add-ons, which probably explains why we never signed him last summer.

Not done yet, but strong rumours it’s happening.

Can someone explain to him that he didn’t sign for them because they are shit and Porto are a far bigger club anyway?

I'm not sure the add-ons from Everton would be that lucrative.

Watched that super Bock great tasting lager gives me a headache prefer sagres myself . Oh and Diaz made for us . Get Bellingham and a holding midfielder and honestly I don't care who stays or goes . I think this is klopps last rebuild for us and with Jones Elliot and Gordon plus Konate I for one think we have one more title for Jürgen .

Depends what they were, surely. An extra 5 million for finishing outside the European places, 500k every time the team gets booed of the pitch at Goodison...

Over the next six months I reckon he would be used mostly off the bench, and the focus would be to get him up to speed with english football in terms of speed, physicality, refereeing style, and general footy culture e.g., little tolerance towards diving and other unsportsmanlike conducts.

I sort of agree, if he can have his minutes managed and be available for the “tougher” looking games for the remainder of the season, then there is no reason we can’t go on a great run.

IMO, he should be one of the first names Klopp picks for Inter and Wembley.

Our best performances and runs of form have been when he’s been available this season.

I fully expect Milner to leave / retire in the summer, then Hendo and Thiago will

take his elder role in the squad.

To me, a midfield of Belligham / Fabinho / Thiago or Hendo is very, very strong.

Although Klopp likes to look to within for solutions (Jones, Morton, Elliott) if we could get one of the midfielders available on a free or into the last 12m

of their contract, I wouldn’t be against that to bolster numbers.

Brilliant news if it goes through.

Based on the clips on this thread, I particularly like the way he refuses to score anything that might not be a goal of the season contender.

If it gets done pretty big chance he will stay at Porto until summer IMO.
