I think Zalatoris might be rivalling Cam Smith now for 'my boy' status. I'm happy for Fitz but gutted for Zalatoris going so close and missing out again. It's not like he's choking these tournaments away like that Greg Norman cunt used to. He's playing fucking great and holding his nerve, but others have just edged him out.

 

I love how he carries himself on the course though. Doesn't get flustered or rattled, just keeps hitting darts with his irons. I probably won't back him for the Open but I'm definitely lumping on him in next year's the majors in the US. Just a matter of time for him.

Fitzpatrick's shot from the bunker on 18 was brilliant and brave. American commentators sounded gutted that there wasnt a home win.

Sky's coverage has gone to shit. The commentary team are good, McGinley is great but the scoreboard is 100% focused on the leaders. They don't have everyone's score running across the screen anymore, how hard can that be every 45 minutes?

Why would you want to know how the rest of the field are doing on a Saturday and Sunday? It’s totally insignificant.

There was various no namers leading on Friday,  I invested some time watching them play, its not too much to ask that there scores are shown. Rahm went about hour past night without any of his shots being shown or his score broadcast. Its such a simple thing that they have done for 20 odd years, just show the fucking scores.

 

I suspect I know the answer as to why they do it, they know loads gamble on it and by no showing the scores they are forcing them to pick up the phone. A phone in the hand is half the battle, Dave showed a bet showing top 12, tonnes of players would have been in with a shout at that at different stages yesterday.

Could it be they take the feed from the US cameras? I hsd the US feed and they were really only following Zlatoris and Scheffler with the odd bit of Rory and Rahm thrown in.

They usually just focus on 3 players don't they with the odd key shot from others? I'm sure you can change what 3 players you watch on the red button and all.

It’s definitely nicked from the US feed. 
 

I think the rolling score updates were more of a feature when golf was on the BBC, but you do still see them sometimes on Sky. The Masters, for example, always has them in the ‘Augusta’ colours.
