2021 Africa Cup of Nations

Mane looks like he was out cold after this. Gets up, looks shaky by the reports and Senegal leave him on to carry on.

And they wonder why European clubs get the arse with African qualifiers and tournaments. Saw with Nabby the other year them play him when not fir, Senegal threaten Watford over Sarr when he'd been out since Nov with a knee injury(they eventually backed down)

So he hit the bar, scored and finally 10 mins later complaining of nausea they take him off  He's obviously been left on with a concussion, quarter finals start Saturday. No doubt he will be declared recovered

That was incredibly unprofessional to leave sadio on. Not to mention the physio was also an ex lfc physio. Surely he as an input.

He was clearly out cold as he didn't stop his face hitting ground. His eyes were rolling in his bed.

Unprofessional tournament, lack of discipline. Jurgens next presser will be interesting.

The club should be recalling him after that. No question.

Sadio would never allow that. A player has to defy their national team themselves, like Matip did. A club can't decide for them.

I can’t understand why people have said we’d got through Afcon ok - Mo and Mane still out there. Couldn’t relax until they came back safely - hope Sadio is ok. Fuming.

The club should be recalling him regardless of empty threats after that. No question - it would be a massive display of weakness not to.

The club doesnt have the power to recall any player at a FIFA sanctioned international tournament. So no, it wouldnt be a display of weakness never mind a massive one. It's hands are tied.

Firstly lets hope Sadio is OK and has no lasting effects from the collision.

Secondly, football has a major concussion protocol problem.  There have been countless times this season in the PL & in Europe where players have suffered obvious bad head injuries and have carried on playing during the game.  It simply isn't taken seriously and it needs rectifying.  Protocols needs ot be stricter and set in stone and there needs to become some serious dracion punishments for clubs & doctors that  currently brush aside the protocols and basically lie that they have gone through the proper tests with the player involved.

Tournament is under FIFA rules so surely there is a rule around concussion and returning to play?

Would imagine it will be around 7 days for a concussion surely?

Sky has just said he’s in hospital now

It's fucking appalling he was left on. It's no exaggeration to say it could have killed him. Absolutely seething about this.

I could be misremembering, but I think there is a rule and it's 10 days.

Must be time for Ian Wright to pen another article about how it's racist to say that the AFCON is a complete shitshow.

Absolutely zero concern for the welfare of players or fans.

Nothing will happen unless FIFA gets sued. See how it really started to turn in the us with NFL. Unless they get hit on the thing they care about, I.e. money, nothing will change.

The keeper was wobbly for about 5 minutes before they stretchered him away. Surely there is a clue in that alone that guy he impacted may not be in the best of health. Sadio is a tough cunt but the doctor needs sacking.

Scored after a bang on the head. Clear lesson for Klopp here for his half time sessions. Cricket bat on order.

PS I hope he's ok
