Comoros 3:2 up against Ghana here

Africa Cup of Nations giant-killers Comoros face a goalkeeping crisis before the biggest game in the country’s history on Monday.

The tournament debutants play hosts and five-time champions Cameroon in Yaounde on Monday, but their camp has been hit by 12 positive Covid cases including coach Amir Abdou.

Seven players have been affected, including the two remaining fit keepers in the squad, Moyadh Ousseini and Ali Ahamada, with first-choice Salim Ben Boina out through injury.

Cunts challenge from Iwobi for Nigeria there. Straight red after var check, he'd only been on the pitch 2 minutes

I thought he got the ball. Those North Africans are a bit dramatic to say the least.

After he'd stamped down on the lads ankle he did. He went right over the footy.

The penalty Burkina Faso got in their game against Gabon was a shambolic decision. Not a chance was it a foul. In a way, justice was done when Bertrand Traore missed it, but in another it eventually led to a red card for the Gabon defender as he was booked for the 'foul'. He picked up a second yellow later in the match for a blatant shirt pull.

I don't think Iwobi's challenge in the Nigeria-Tunisia match warranted anything more than a free kick. Maybe a yellow card at best. It's pretty obvious that he went to protect the ball and all of a sudden the defender's leg was there. The defender acting like his leg had been hacked off by a Saudi regime goon didn't help, nor did the ref shitting himself when watching it back on VAR.

Two absolute PGMOLs of a refereeing decision.

In other news, Naby will be back early as Gambia have eliminated Guinea in the knock-outs.

Apart from that ref who had heatstroke and literally didnt know what he was doing in the last 10 minutes of the game, even blowing for time 5 minutes early, in the games Ive watched, I thought the refs have done the games without controversy.

The Gambia v Guinea ref did lose it at the end, I must admit.

My view was similar.

Comoros predictably exit the AFCON after having to play a left-back in goal. Surely even the most right-on pundit grifter is now going to stop claiming this is a serious tournament?

This has happened many times in English football. Including Steve Staunton in goal for us v Everton after Westerveld and Jeffers were sent off.

How shit are Cameroon that they scraped a 2-1 win against a nation with less than a million inhabitants, that had a man sent off after seven minutes, and had a left back in goal?

At least they have rules and don't make it up as they go along.

That was in a single game when a keeper was sent off. They had 1 keeper injured, 2 out with covid. Surely it would make sense for emergency call ups for keepers allowed

It would but haven't the PL,UEFA and FIFA made equally ridiculous rulings?

Surprised at Nigeria's exit who I thought would go all the way to the final. Equally surprised that Comors made it to the last 16 at the expense of giants like Ghana, Algeria...My money now would be on I Coast/Cameroon. But wouldn't be shocked now if OLD Egypt pulls through. Anyways, the standard of African football remains dire.

Sure I saw it mentioned that he picked up 2 yellows in the group games and got banned.

He was suspended last night but are the odds he makes it to Wembley unscathed?
