Buzzing.

To all the 'i don't give a toss about league cup' mob - tell that to my 12 year old who was crestfallen at half time and absolutely buzzing at end, who literally yapped excitedly every step of the 30 or so min walk back from ground and has only just really stopped!

Thought we were excellent 2nd half and Kop played its part....ultimately when all is said and done winning football matches and trophies is 1. What this football club exists for and 2. Is all that really matters...

Yeah the league cup is the 'lowest priority' of the 4 we can win, but winning things is actually something that you don't get that many chances to do really and it does not happen all that often - every trophy matters to me personally and it felt like it mattered in that ground tonight and it really mattered to my lad.

Great for your kid that. Nice one

I have no idea why that isn't a yellow card.

If it's true one of their players screwed their foot into the turf after his penno, that should be a red. Any footage of that please @Caramac

Rodgers keeps getting his self addressed envelopes mixed up.  Fuck Leicester fans too. All that could be sung was fuck the tories because Leicester is such a non entity of a club and place there's nothing to hang your hat on. No characteristics, no culture, nothing to offer other than you exist and youre jam packed full of cunts.

The only thing they've brought to the world is shit crisps.

Have to say that was the game I’ve most enjoyed seeing so far this season.

Even at 0-2 & 1-3 I thought if we just cut out the silly mistakes we could salvage it, and so it proved.

A couple of the youngsters were out of sorts, (nerves maybe?) and unfortunately were punished for mistakes, but I’m sure they’ll benefit from the experience of playing before a packed ground generating, what has to be said, a great atmosphere, stimulated in part by the Leicester scruffs crowing far too early and then getting their arses handed to them.

The difference when the three experienced players came on was marked, and without Salah and Mane showed that maybe we won’t struggle as much as first thought when they go to the AFCON.

Leicester we’re cynical in their time wasting and feigning injury, and I think it’s a pattern we’re beginning to see from teams who play us at the moment, tactics meant to frustrate and break rhythms, as they don’t have the players or tactics to do anything else.

That’s where referees should bring their authority to bear and I felt the ref last night gave us a little bit of the benefit sometimes because of Leicester’s shithousery.

A really good night for us and for football, the right result for the right team.

Merry Christmas Reds.

The 1st legs of the semis are Tuesday and Wednesday 4th/5th after the Chelsea game on Sunday the 2nd. I presume Sky will demand one game on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday so either us or Chelsea will have to the 1st leg play 51 hours after we play each other.

Fucking disaster if it's us considering we have to do the same for the Leicester game next week and the game after is Shrewsbury in FA cup Sunday 9th and Chelsea play Sunday/Wednesday every week for the Christmas period.

If we get the Wednesday slot the first week, we could play the same 11 for the 2 x League Cup ties and have a different 11 for the Shrewsbury game so the Sunday/Tuesday thing would be less if an issue for that game.

Something like this would be great if all fit:

Kelleher

Williams Gomez Phillips Konate Tsimikas

Milner Henderson Keita

Taki Origi

Allison

Trent Matip VvD Robertson

Ox Fabinho Thiago

Firmino Jota Jones

I'll never forgive them for what they did to Tudor and Smiths.

Killed off nice crisp manufacturers to replace them with their shite in wrongly coloured packets.

Walkers are shithouse crisp aids in a packet.

Schmeichel showed what a twat he was with his comments after our 4-0 win at their place a couple of years back, when he bitterly tried to make out it had been an even game that was in the balance until the ref gave us a soft penalty (firstly, we absolutely battered them all night, and secondly it was a nailed on penalty). Great how his pathetic attempts at mind games completely backfired and allowed Jota to show how calm and confident he was instead.

Up early to watch the crazy fucking match, then to the barbers for a beer and haircut, before 9 hours of sun and beers for the work Christmas party, now home to sleep as I listen to the TLW podcast.

Ace day. Up the fucking reds!

Nearly sure I saw Albrighton doing that.

But I was watching on some South African channel so they never noticed it

Reading the Guardian report this morning somebody in the readers comments said we were singing "you're a town full of pa*is" at them.

Its not true right? He has cloth ears so mistook "tories" for "pa*is" in his bitterness and disappointment?

Smiths Bovril flavoured crisps were the sex. I still pine for them from time to time.

Like I've said. He's not going anywhere in 2024.

I’ve been saying that all year. He’ll sign another three year contract to take him to his 60th birthday.

It can be quite entertaining reading through the match thread after a game like yesterday's.

Heads were truly gone early on. Pages 5 and 6 are the highlights. People crying it in 15 minutes into the match!! I guess the lows and then the highs is what makes it entertaining to read though.

    • We need to move on some players, Klopp should give up the loyalty he has towards Keita and seriously refresh this squad in the summer.   If we don't spent money now to bridge the little gap we have with City the gap will get lot wider and more difficult to close. However much it is true, we cannot keep blaming City for buying their way through. We have earned shit loads of money and it is time to spend big for once. Spend money to make money.
    • The baileys helped me get through that one without feeling too bad, the shitty feeling crept in as the hours passed though and it doesn't feel good today. When I think back to it their keeper made some great saves and changed the game, it could've been way different if Sadio had scored earlier on. I thought Valverde looked like a good player too and had a decent game. Not sure what the fuck happened to us though and Trent was out of it for their goal.   I've never liked Real Madrid but I'd way rather this feeling than the one I'd have had of that fucking oil club had got to the final and beat us instead. Hopefully we're back at it next season and doing well again, with one or more good signings to change things around a bit.
    • in all honesty it was just a few games too many in the end.   as fun as it was winning the other two finals, the total accumulation of game after game after game caught up with the players in the end.    the last few games we picked up injuries and lets call a spade a spade, neither of those players shone brightly last night. Van Dijk was fine, but Thiago was definitely off the pace and Fabinho not much better.    Salah has been running on empty since the afcon, Mane, up until last night was exceptional, but the tap had run dry, he's only human.    I definitely think we need a young hungry midfielder, who that is, fucked if i know, and a prolific central striker wouldnt go a miss.    i know there's some chatter around Kane at the minute, persnally, id love that to happen, but i cant see FSG coughing up the funds for a 29 year old with questionable ankles.....but say what you want, that guy would score bags of goals in this team.    hopefully next year we'll learn our lessons and quite frankly play the under 9's in both the league and fa cups, there's no need for the first team to be playing them cups, they're not the league nor champions league.
    • On the link, there are four icons, beginning with the quotation symbol. Pick the last one and it comes up with “copy link to this tweet”. That’s the one that embeds it.
    • Still gutted. Horrible waking up after a Final loss. Even the sun isn’t shining like it was yesterday. Proud of the boys for this season but this is hard to take.
