Just a couple - Roy and Ronnie

Roy Evans, he had an impossible task and had to manage some of the most talented yet arrogant players just as football hit money. 

 

No manager knew more about football than Roy Evans. 

 

How the fuck can this side have had the likes of Ruddock at this club.

Ronnie - Anything anyone thinks our great managers did, Ronnie did it

 

Could have been a manager of this club, he didn't want too

 

Would we have been the side in the 80's without them? No. 

 

 

Let's not forget Roy and Ronnie. 

 

My god if it wasn't for them, Shanks, Paisley, Fagan and a loved few others , we wouldn't be as happy in life.

Roy was unlucky really as a manager. 

Had he had been around a few years later like Ged was he would have  qualified for the Champions League regularly. Maybe that would have given him the funds to get in the players needed to go that step further, added to having that influx of Gerrard,Murphy,Thompson and a more experienced Owen,Fowler etc. 

 

Be interesting how he would have done, Hyypia would likely have still come in as it wasn't Houllier scouts team that found him. 

 

 

Not sure he had the ruthless streak though to break up the local lads cliques and stamp enough authority on the players. In the end I think the club needed the outsider to come in amd change things for the long term.

I don’t think it was fair him being manager and if anything Ronnie probably would have been better. Souness left us in a shit state with the wankers he signed and the young lads paid attention to them instead of a few years before when we had proper players

I reckon with a proper goalie and not David James (for example, Nigel Martyn), Evans would have won the league.

Ronnie was the man behind the man for so many managers at the club. He would just take the players ,that needed it, down a peg. Roy was just in the right place at the wrong time him and Ged together was never going to end well.

If it had gone to Roy when it went to Souness, the 90s would have been a lot more enjoyable!

Souness had tried to sign Tim Flowers when Blackburn got him, he would've been great for us.

Two great names from our great club that should rightly be placed alongside Shanks, Paisley and Fagan, not forgetting Reuben Bennett and Geoff Twentyman from those days.
