Stop shouting shoot

Recommended Posts

You know what I did notice yesterday having been away for a little while? All the songs are sung so fucking fast. Too fast.

Every Other Saturday, Poor Scouser Tommy we’re all turbo charged.

And what’s with the Virg song? I blame that Jamie Webster quilt.

Jamie Webster is a young local lad living his dream. Good on the lad and best of luck to him.

The only time “shoot” should be outlawed is when Hendo gets it on the edge of the box.

Need a list of pre-approved songs, chants, movements, cheers handed out to anyone everyone attending Anfield and a permanant match ban for anyone who deviates in any way from things I think they should do.

People were moaning about this when I used to attend games, and I stopped doing so in the mid to late 2000s.

I know Liverpool stopped players signing autographs at the training ground, but can you still write to the club or individual players and ask for autographs? When I was kid, I wrote to loads of players, enclosing something for them to sign and a self-addressed envelope. Graeme Souness and Ronald Koeman were the only players who never obliged.

Back in the day I got a signed photo of Emlyn after writing in.

I’ve only been away from the ground since March 2020. It seems to have kicked up a notch further since then. Maybe I just developed a romantic idea in my head during the absence. But it’s all kinda “sentimoftfarrforeignland”

I once asked Steve McMahon for his shirt. He told me to fuck-off!

How old were you?

It was boss during Carra's last game and is mildly amusing when we're bumming teams. Singing chants relating to the game would be ace though - Ole's at the Wheel when we were playing other teams was small-time shite.

Didn’t he hit the post during that game ?

A permanent match ban is far too lenient. Anybody laughing, smiling or suspected of having fun should be frogmarched to The Albert to be publicly beaten by a super fan, pre-chosen by The Spirit of Shankly committee members.

They shall recite how only things are to be done like the old days, any evolution or change of behaviour is ‘wool like’ and probably some sort of dark sorcery. They should then be shot.

Not before being forced to listen to one of Dave Kirby's poems on loop for half an hour. That'll teach them.

I did the same with Ronnie Whelan and either he or somebody else signed his picture from Match magazine.

It made me genuinely sad it didn't go it. Inches away from a hilarious way for a CB to end their career. Especially one who started out up top, then scored more in his own net that the opposition. Almost poetic.

I think it's a bit humourous to be honest although not so if people are doing it throughout the game.

Besides, Fabinho wouldnt have scored that wonderful strike against city a few seasons ago if everyone hadnt shouted 'Shooooooot!' He'd have passed the ball to someone else instead.
