The work situation is crazy, I worked in a place once and  they had a former PA to a government minister in the Congo and a trained accountant from Pakistan doing voluntary work because they weren't allowed to get a job, insanity.

Asylum seekers aren't allowed to work for 12 months after they arrive in the country. Lib Dems tried to get it reduced to 3, that went nowhere. An SNP bill is trying to reduce it to 6, that will no doubt fall by the wayside too. Absolutely crazy that we have people who want to work but the law prevents them from doing so.

Reception Centre? No, call it what it is - an internment camp.

How long before one of these planes is hijacked by the detainees? Are they all going to be cuffed to their seats for the duration of the flights?

A statement from No 10 said: “The home secretary will set out further details on a world-first migration and economic development partnership signed by the home secretary, Priti Patel, with Rwanda – one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa which is recognised globally for its record on welcoming and integrating migrants.”

According to a 2020 Human Rights Watch report, detainees in the country suffer from arbitrary detention, ill-treatment, and torture in official and unofficial facilities.

The government has not yet explained whether any camp at which asylum seekers are interned will be under UK jurisdiction, or how the UK government will seek to oversee the welfare of migrants.

Quite.
