Villa are only big because they play in a league which is watched mlby millions of people.

By that argument Norwich and brentford are huge clubs.

Disagree.

Villa have been stalwarts of the old Division One, as well as the Premier League for the majority of its history, only dropping to the Championship in 2016. Villa Park in its day was one of the biggest grounds in English football - as we know - hosting the FA Cup semi final most seasons (55, more than any other stadium.) Even as an all seater Villa Park has a bigger capacity than Stamford Bridge and the club has initial planning permission to redevelop the North Stand which will take them to about 50,000.

Like so many fine old clubs through history, lack of cash has hindered progress. Gerrard may know something we don’t, in terms of cash injection, but I think he’s made an interesting decision and if it keeps him away from St. James’ Park, I for one am delighted.

Ibrox and Parkhead both have bigger capacities.

Stevie's next four matches

Palace away

City

Leicester

Liverpool away

You're not in Scotland anymore lid.

What a weird thing to do to condescend a living and all time Liverpool legend for daring to ply his trade and achieve his management goals.

He’s not started too badly so far. Lid.

What a weird way to take a comment that is obviously directed at the gulf in quality between the two leagues.

Lid.
