Good performance again but it does exasperate me how, for several games now since we failed to break down 10 man Chelski, we've been cruising against shattered teams and we've played really dozily in that narrow band of pitch just in their half. Even Virge and Thiago giving the ball away. When you've got that much dominance, you've got to keep the brain sharp and the passing quick. Don't just pass it around until one of you loses it. We did it against the mancs and again tonight, just sleepy play instead of thinking, 'Okay, we blew it against Chelski, we MUST learn to make advantages count, let's use this as a training exercise and be clinical'.

We’ve definitely been a bit complacent in games that we’re cruising in this season - the Brighton game being the most costly. Thought we kept the intensity up tonight though, they defended well in the second half despite being a man down.

As spoilt as it sounds, the Old Trafford game pissed me off more, as we could easily have put seven or eight past them.

Owen "as soon as Gerrard got the ball" I forget that, but when Gerrard got the ball and Torres ran.... wow

We pissed that tonight. Great from Klopp getting Sadio off at half time. Hope Bobby and Ox are ok.

Job done. No side in Europe will want us in the next round.

The buzz is kicking in.

Can’t complain with that overall, but blow me down an injury to Bobby just puts a real damper on it. Diogo is in great form, but we’re ‘one bad knock’ away from Divock being the last man standing. Mo took some punishment tonight too, but it’s a credit to his match fitness and somehow staying out of trouble that he’s come through ok.

Trent had another blinder. What a footballer. Thank fuck TAA is Liverpool thru and thru. His salary is a bit less than other ‘stars’ is it not? He wont be tempted by big money moves.

I like the Fab/Hendo/Ox midfield - thought they did well tonight. Good to have Thiago  back but he has a tendency to fumble in the wrong place and wrong time.

Fascinatingly, I was listening to Jurgen post match - he was asked the question about being able to play weakened sides now in the last 2 CL matches, because Liverpool have qualified and he said ‘no - the club earns big money in the CL for every game won, and we have to do the best for the club’ !! That’ll rattle a few sabres on this thread I imagine ;-)

On to West Ham. Huge game, both sides needing three points. Can’t make my mind up if they are punching above their weight or have really stepped up.

Sounded to me like it was Simeone. Quite right too. Wasn’t fucking dancing tonight, was he?

Sounded like Simeone alright. Fair enough I thought considering some of his team's antics over the 2 matches.
