That is a bit silly , Adrian isn't great but he has played 140 PL games and should be ok for a hokey cokey cup match with Preston. We would be thrilled if Alisson broke his leg  in a collision , wouldn't we ?

The chances of Alisson picking up a serious injury are very low.

The chances of Adrian kicking the ball straight to a Preston forward and them scoring or him letting in a soft goal are very high.

For me i just don't want to see him play for us again ever, he is shite and he unsettles our defence/costs us football matches/trophies.

Of course Alisson playing is far from ideal - but lets face it this not playing senior players in these games is a newish thing, players play games and in the overwhelming majority of cases are fine, especially keepers - How many of our league cup winning campaign games do you think Clemence in 81 and Grobbelaar in 82, 83 and 84 played in?....two legged games and replays in those days too!

No Kelleher....bard news.

Personally i'd play Alisson then as Adrian can't be trusted - but i wonder if maybe one of the other keepers might get a go.

Surely has to be better than that useless get Adrian - who for me like Karius should never pull on the shirt again.

Adrian fucked up badly against Chelsea and Atletico. He should be good enough to keep Preston at bay.

Sunderland

Arsenal

Chelsea

All through tonight. Tomorrow:

West Ham V Man City

Preston V Liverpool

Wolves V Spurs

Stoke V Brentford

Leicester V Brighton

Draw for the next round is on Saturday.

Personally I like the League Cup as it gives me a chance to go to games where I wouldn't normally get a ticket (bigger allocation for cup games).  As long as we play lower league or shit Premier League teams it's a good chance to see the younger players. Luckily I'm going tomorrow as will 5000+ others who will get behind the team.

Don't know why our fans constantly turn their noses up at the domestic cup games. Unfortunately the club does and gives the likes of Chelsea and Man City a free run at trophies.

Went the Leeds game a couple of years ago and although Ben Woodburn scored it was Trent who impressed the most. Had some good trips to Derby, MK Dons and Norwich the last couple of seasons.

Spurs are playing Burnley, not Wolves

The 3 points being:

1.    Adrian isn't up to the job

2.    The young lads are half decent

3.    Adrian is really not up to the job

Adrian is our third-choice keeper only because he has the world's best keeper and the best young prospect in the Premier League ahead of him. He's better than, say, Tim Krul, who is a regular Premier League starter.

"The job" is beating a team from the lower reaches of the Championship when they are missing some of their more important players. Of course he's up to it.

Now go dry your knickers.

You still rate Adrian above Karius then.

I think everyone who has ever watched football does.

Karius fucked up and will never be a competent keeper again.

Adrian did what normal keepers does; occasional fuck-ups from which he has the ability, temperament and experience to recover.
