Right, so we are down to the last round. The team is looking good with Stevie, souness and Terry Mc taking the midfield spots. What a midfield that would have been.

Onto the one now - I added all I can find and hopefully not missed any. There is nobody who hasn’t been included who would be in the running for this. Bobby is lucky to be included and Heighway was in the midfield vote, so just go with what’s there. I’m 99% sure I’m bullet proof here.

Nobody noticed I forgot to add Johnston to the midfielders either, plus no added player has ever even come close to being in the running for their section.

Vote away - what a team!

Salah

then the rest.

Imagine Salah with Dalglish just behind him though.

I dont like the formation, but went with Rush because he deserves to be in there.

He was the one I was flirting with including, but for which of rush, Barnes and Kenny??

«Salah is currently the second most prolific striker Liverpool has ever produced in their history, having scored in 61.8% of his matches, slightly ahead of Luis Suarez and only bettered by the South African Gordon Hodgson, who scored in 63.9% of his 377 matches for the club.»

Mind you, Hodgson is not even on the list.

Fuck me, there's some players there.

I've gone for the King (because he's the King) and Rushie (because he's our top goalscorer).

The third slot was harder to fill. Sir Roger and the Saint clearly deserve respect. Keegan was our first superstar of the colour telly era and powered us into European success. Setting aside how it ended, Owen was a machine and Torres was an artist. Suarez is still probably the single player I feel most privileged to have watched; such a range of skills and the quickest-thinking player I've ever seen. Barnes was a phenomenal winger, but I can't choose him in a forward line over these other legends.

For all that, it came down to a straight choice between Fowler and Mo, with God just edging it.

John Barnes was a delight to watch and was the best player, by a mile, in the best team in England, by a mile for 3 years. If he doesn't get in the team I'm disappointed.

The team should be 442 with Terry Mac (who always made my best ever Liverpool eleven until Mo came along) missing out and a front 4 of Mo, Kenny, Rush and Barnes.

Kenny had to be in it, and so did Rush imo. The latter was far more than a goalscorer, especially for the last part of his career.

Third one very difficult, but I just couldn’t leave Barnes out. I’ve never seen a player glide past opponents with such ease. His close control, balance and dribbling was unreal. Great creator and great finisher.

Very harsh to leave Salah out, but for me Barnes was simply a better player.
