The thing is though, the question isn't about naming acts your cloth-eared anti-intellectualism won't allow you to appreciate, but about naming acts that are boring. By any metric they aren't boring.

They were never being boring.

Buddy Holly getting negged and slaughtered. A 16 year old kid almost re-writing music and being involved in the early rock n roll movement that helped change popular music forever just isn't considered good good enough. Oh Marone.

I got bad news for you:

Lots of misplaced Queen hate as well, I get that most only know them as the stadium rockers post Live Aid and I agree that THAT Queen were shite but their first five albums are very, very good and Mercury as a front man was bettered by nobody. I saw them at the Liverpool Empire in 1979 and although I was only 14 it remains the greatest gig I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a few gooduns.

I was at the first of those 2 shows, they were fucking outstanding. Freddie came on with one red and one blue knee pad to avoid upsetting either set of fans. I’m pretty sure which ones would have got upset over the colour of knee pads.

That would have been the Thursday show, I was at the Friday one. I will never forget it, it’s also the loudest gig I’ve been to.

If there is a more agonisingly tedious and tortuous song than Jesus to a child, I have yet to hear it

Imagine by John Lennon.

I Will Always Love You - All versions.

Hallelujah - Cohen and Burke.

Anything ballad by Leona Lewis., Celine Dion, Michael Bolton etc etc.

And that’s just the ones I’m pushing out while having a dump.
