On the back of Stig’s all time non Liverpool 11, and having recent debate with friends about Mo’s standing in our all time greats, was keen to see what this would throw up results wise.

Because I’ve never seen Clem play, I’ll have to go with Ali on this one.

Alisson is obviously the right and only answer, the only one getting close is Reina.

Keepers from the 70’s and 80’s, no matter how good they were at their time, almost played a different sport.

Put a prime Clemence in this team and he hardly would be better than Adrian.

The same goes for the other players, no one, not even Dalglish would get into todays team if he was transported to the future with a time machine.

When comparing footy players from different eras, you have to use a footballing equivalent of the boxing pound-for-pound system, to allow for differing levels of fitness, etc. Ultimately, it’s just a bit of fun and is entirely subjective.

How many of today's team would get into a Liverpool team if they were transported back forty years in time? Not many - and if they did only Virgil and Robbo would last till Christmas. Like matching greyhounds in a scrap against bulldogs.

I might as well jib it off - that’s what it’s going to be isn’t it? I’ve embarked on a pointless exercise
