I watched a ten things you didn't know about masters of the universe. Some of it was bonkers. I'll watch it again and summarise, it was an enjoyable film and some the things behind it I'm not sure if it improved or made it worse. 

 

Mattel wouldn't allow He Man to kill anyone, so the bad guys were all robots.

 

A kid won a competition to be a star in the film and a boy makes a brief appearance as an extra.

 

The film ran out of money before it could be completed. Somehow the director managed to get the final fight scene between He Man and Skeletor filmed by raising money himself. Cannon Films went bust after this film and Superman IV flopped at the box office.

 

Dolph Lundgren was almost dubbed over as his Swedish accent didn't fit the He Man image. He had a contract which stated that he could have three attempts at voicing the role before being dubbed. Because they ran out of money, they left his voice in the final film.

Good films are wasted when your pissed.  A decent comedy or action film is best imo. A cheesy Van Damme, Seagal, Statham film are always easy watches.
