Yep I used to work in IT and still have a keen interest. Back when Doom was released we installed it on the local network and had regular shooting games during downtime and we’d quickly alt tab when we heard footsteps. If it was no one important we’d alt tab again and carry on.

 

back when Kia were a tiny company the telesales company I worked for were trying to win a contract from them and we were explicitly told NO GAMES when they come. We were obviously rumbled but they just turned the other cheek, much to the annoyance of the sales and marketing department.

 

we were so engrossed in our doom session we didn’t hear the doors open and three South Koreans were standing over our shoulders. FUCK!

 

Turned out the South Koreans encouraged gaming at work as it set a relaxing tone which encouraged productivity! Won the contract and were told to play doom whenever we weren’t busy! Sales and marketing were furious!
