I fancy Europe to win it.  Something like 15 - 13.  Maybe even 15 1/2 - 12 1/2.  My reasons are:

- The course is a European course.  The course designer tried to make the whole set-up as Irish as possible, basing it on the links golf at Ballybunion in Kerry.  Even the 3 PGA's it's held has never seen an American winner.  Links golf in the wind suits the Europeans a lot more.

- The rough is links rough.  Close to the fairway and punishing.  Not your usual American nonsense where you can hit the ball as hard as you want and if you hook it or slice you're just on a different fairway.  You push or pull your drive here and you're in deep trouble.  I'd be surprised if Bryson gets a point if he tries to go all big boy.

- People talk about Hatton and Fleetwood being out of form.  But this is different golf.  Hatton for example has been getting plenty of birdies.  His problem has been hitting big numbers on single holes.  That's a disaster in stroke play, but no real issue in match play.  He can get an 8 on the par 3, and follow it up with 2 birdies, and he's 1 up.  It may be less forgiving in foursome (where I might rest Hatton) but not in fourball and certainly not in the singles.

- The yanks still all hate each other and get pissed off when their partner hits a bad shot. The Europeans see a bad shot by a partner as a reason to gee that man up.

- Our rookies are sensational.  Multi-winners, not kids, Major titles, and in Hoveland and Lowry, massively popular, team players who all reports have as being hugely positive and important in the team rooms, as well as being superb golfers in their own right.  Wiesberger a hugely experienced pro too.  In fact, the 3 rookies have over 20 wins between them.

I'm confident, and I don't think it's misplaced confidence.

Don't know if it's my TV but Casey and Koepke don't look anything like that on my screen
