We are a bit thin on the ground options wise arnt we?

The under 23s are light on attacking options unless they dip into the lads from the 18s.

As far as attacking options that are no longer eligible for the 18s, we have Max Woltman, Fidel O'Rourke, Jack Bearne and Layton Stewart.

Layton is out with a long term injury, so I doubt we'll see him again this year.

Max isn't ready for the step up to the first-team level as he's only just taken the step from the 18s to the 23s.

Fidel works his socks off - never stops working for the team, but he's the least talented of the attacking options in the youth squads, in my humble opinion.

Jack is a tidy player, but has always had niggling injuries that have prevented him really getting a run of games. I think he'll move on next summer (or be moved on).

Balagizi, Gordon and Musialowski are the most advanced of the attacking talent we have in the Academy, though as I said earlier, I don't believe that Musialowski is first-team ready. He hasn't started the season too well with the 23s, but he's the type of player that can be doing very little and then just comes alive and bring a spark to game.

Gordon is being fast-tracked through the youth system, no doubt about that. He was always going to be in contention for cup games this season, certainly the earlier rounds at the very least.

Balagizi is still playing mainly for the 18s and has been playing as an attacking central midfielder - an 8 with more licence to get forward, if you will, as opposed to playing as a 10 in behind a striker as he's also done. That said, I reckon he's more first-team ready than Musialowski as he has more of a physical presence about him.

Maybe swap Jones with Ox

With Thiago out for Brentford Krita will probably start next weekend so Won't start here. Gordon should come in on the right with Minamino moving to the left and Jones to the midfield 3

Can't see Norwich going strong...they are going to be in a relegation dogfight and can't afford injuries/tiredness etc.

They have zero chance of winning this trophy as well, so why risk players in it.

My money is on them making 10 changes from weekend.

Our team for my money might look like this:

Kelleher

Gomez

Konate

Phillips

Tsimikas

Oxlade

Milner

Jones

Minamino

Origi

Gordon

Don't think starting Gordon would be a good idea - has he even played U23s yet?

Can't think of another forward!

I suppose Jones could possibly go up there but that then means risking someone else in midfield or playing another kid.

Maybe a formation change is possible.

Be interesting to see what we do.

Norwich know they can't win this tournament and their sole focus is on staying in the Prem.

Be surprised if they even show up for this match.
