Worst Liverpool Transfer - You’re All Wrong

It’s not Keita, Carroll, Aspas, Aquilani, Jovanovic, Balotelli, or most of your usual guesses - all of whom will have contributed at least a few useful moments in a red shirt.

For those of us old enough to remember him, it is almost certainly Jimmy Carter.

Singed from Milwall in 1991, he played less games for us than I have fingers, and was so laughably bad he was brought on as a substitute at Stamford Bridge and then himself substituted.

It was a miracle we moved him on to Arsenal, where he promptly disappeared.

Jimmy Carter is our worst signing ever.

Don’t know about “singed” . We got well and truly burnt with Carter

Think he was actually quite highly rated at the time.

Definitely the worst signing Kenny made in that 1st spell.

Personally I'd still have him behind that  one rafa signed who looked like al Bundy.

Respected veteran and all round lovely guy, Roy Hodgson, was the manager of Liverpool Football Club when we signed Joe Cole.

Downing, Stuart. Even though the others were pure shite, at least they had a go. This cunt was shite and didn’t fucking care about making an effort.

How he ever got the minutes he did for us I’ll never know.

Unforgivable signing

Nah. I’ve no time for him, but any player that’s (deservedly) man of the match in a final we win can never be our worst ever signing.  A bad signing, symptomatic of the time, yes.  But the worst? No chance.

I actually had a poster of him playing for us from Shoot! magazine.

I always could spot a proper player.

Managed to get him on my wall just slightly overlapping my Julian Dicks poster from Match magazine, nestled nicely alongside the legend that is Mike Hooper is his Green Candy goalkeeper shirt
