Something that didn’t occur to me a hell of a lot of survivors, first responders, clean up crew etc have died/contracted various serious illnesses due to ground zero exposure.  Shocking really this terrorist attack is still killing people to this day.

You can add the deaths from the war in Afghanistan, hunt for Bin Laden etc to the 9/11 death toll. The impact will be felt forever

Jon Stewart has been pushing for benefits for first responders for years.

My dad has a friend in Brooklyn who has developed serious breathing issues since 9/11. He wasn't anywhere near Ground Zero when it happened & yet the dust & pollutants drifted everywhere and have caused no end of issues for so many people.

There's some good points here that are as important now as they've ever been. There's a bit on our stupid covid response too and the dangers of it but this is clearly better here rather than the covid thread : 9/11 and the Politics of Fear and Self-Preservation

 

If anyone going to have a go because it's "Mint Press News" or whatever I'm not bothered, it's by one of my favourite writers.
