It's a bizarre tactic. Madrid did similar with Bale, made a song and dance about him having to leave, then being surprised no one wanted to give them a fee.

Especially when anybody can sign him for free in 6 months.

If I was at a club who wanted him, I’d tell Barca it’s a free transfer or a loan with no fee for the reminder of his contract, covering 100% of his wages. Barca will save £5m in wages by just getting rid of him.

Only a complete dipshit would pay a fee at this point.

They seem to think we'll pay them £12m for Carvalho, and give them a sell-on clause to boot. Seeing that he'll be available in a matter of months for a nominal tribunal fee, I don't know how they've come to that conclusion.

I fear the £15 million fee the mancs wanted for Lingard's 6 month loan to Newcastle has turned quite a few clubs heads.

Another Newcastle signing…

Seeing Geordies on Twitter “buzzing” at their signings, but to me, they are mostly meh…

Trippier - Good player.

Wood - Shite.
This Brazilian midfielder - He has 3 Brazil caps in a squad where Fred is an ever present and not played for them since 2020. Can’t help that think if he was that good, he wouldn’t be going to Newcastle.

Dan Burn - Meh.

Ekitike - Never heard of him until 15 mins ago, his stats look good to be fair. Unsure he’ll be an instant starter.

To me, Newcastle are alright going forward. St Maximan, on his day, is a threat, Almiron, Wilson & Friaser are Premiership quality players.

Defensively & midfield they are a mess, I don’t see Dan Burn sorting the defensive mess out and it’s a lot to ask Guimarães of in midfield.

It all feels very scattergun.

Guimaraes is very good, consistent. Probably Lyon’s best player since he went there.
