Jesus, you'd think we'd lost and been played off the park. I'd hate to have this "everything's shit" outlook some of our 'support' have. For fucks sake, lighten up, or fuck footy off altogether. It can't be good for your health. Now if you'll excuse me, the Mrs has brought me another beer. Cheers.

It's concerning that Chelsea were the better team and looked more threatening than us even when they were down to 10 men.

It's also concerning that we've largely looked shite from an attacking perspective since last season. People are still living off our PL triumph like it was yesterday.

We've been shite going forward for so long now, it's not some made up fallacy.

Oh sure. Our best option for winning the game with 10 minutes left was to bring on a second choice left back. Go fucking figure.

Might have escaped your attention that Robbo was fucked, so maybe we should have brought on Minamino for him. FWIW  I think we need to buy an attacker but I dont know who is available that would be good enough.

In a game like this, we'd need at least 8 players to be on their game.

We had 5, maybe 6. The 2 centre backs, Trent, Ali and Elliott. Maybe Fab. Rest not good enough for a big boys match.

Another attacker would have been nice, and that's the clear priority.

Bar the odd break away (that I thought we gave them far too much respect in), we were rightly camped in their half. We seemed to go into our shells after about 60 minutes and stopped getting runners in beyond their back 6. Disappointing, but shit happens.

I'm more concerned that my current beer is nearly gone. Mrs Tash! Another please!

Surely we've progressed beyond the days where the solution to more goals is having 5 strikers on the pitch all trying to occupy the same space with nobody to provide the passes.

If we were going to break Chelsea down it was going to be from the wide positions, and given our full backs are our primary providers from wide it kind of makes sense that if one isn't doing it you bring on another.

Because we only have one way we can play and Chelsea knew that. They left the middle of midfield open because they know Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago won't be scoring any goals.

We had this problem last year and it looks like we've still got it.

I thought trent looked a bit laboured in the last half hour. Not that he played bad, just not his effervescent self. Robbo ran out of gas and we made it too easy by not being match sharp enough to move it quickly. Tis all a bit meh.

Disjointed second half display thanks to a combination of several of our lads being off their game, errant attacking-third decision making, Chelsea time-wasting and buying cheap free kicks to stem any momentum, and of course Anthony Fucking Taylor.

Ultimately, so many of our players being off-key is the biggest reason who we couldn't taken advantage of the extra man. Some of it reminded me of that poor run of form last season.

Still, regroup and hopefully (though unlikely) kick on with the addition of a new face or two to freshen things up.

Need a return to the 2019/20 sequence of 1-0 wins now that we've beefed up the defence, because there's nothing in that midfield good enough to overwhelm creatively and two-thirds of what was an incredible attack have devolved to powder-puff players on a consistent basis over an 18-24 month period. An 18 year old starting that game in midfield speaks volumes of FSG's impact on the squad.

Im so glad we hung on cos Chelsea knew how we play and their attack ran us all over the show.  FFS  you talk like we were playing some shite middle of the table yard dogs and not the current European Champions who will be in the mix this season. They had their tactics right and have some pretty decent players.  A draw is not the end of the world.

Thiago and Keita were on the bench. FSG has nothing to do with Elliott, that's a Klopp decision. Also, he was quite good, his age doesn't matter.

Keita's not good enough; god knows what's happened to Thiago, but he's become a peripheral figure at national level in an unspectacular Spain side and fallen behind here too. The Curtis Jones experiment was a joke last season & we're not winning anything this season if we've got Harvey Elliot starting in the midfield on a consistent basis: quote me on that. He may become a top player in a few seasons .. by that time Virgil, Mo etc are gone, so whatever.

Some fucking right dickheads on here tonight, moaning like cunts about FSG and how we couldn't break down a TEN man defence. The point's alright, not great but alright. Get a fucking grip, you whinging twats.

Bang on. Always the fucking same, some love a good moan more than a good result. Makes you fucking wonder why they bother. Point at home against reigning European  champions who have spent a fortune, 10 men or not they snided and shithoused their way home today. We will get better, we obviously need more options up top. Will we get them? You’d think we lost to fucking Norwich.

Trent was garbage bar a couple of decent crosses.

They need to work on their passing. I can't remember the last time we played so many passes that required a teammate to run backwards to collect the ball. Unforced, sloppy passing. We needed to really zip the ball around to feet, and instead we either played slow passes either side of a teammate or else settled for hope-and-hit balls into the box.

4 fouls we were awarded in a game where we had 66% possession, it's not why we didn't win but it's pretty dodgy officiating at best.

Didnt manage to find out how many free kicks they got, but imagine somewhere between 12 and 15.

According Whoscored we made 15 tackles and they made 27.

Anthony Taylor had a big influence on this game.

I’ll take the 2-0 and 3-0 we had last week and the week before thanks.

And Elliott was preferred over last season’s Marquee player. Of course we need more attacking options but we’ll be fine. Not losing  against the other 3/4 challengers is ok. We need to do the business against the text of the crap in the league and we’ve done that so far, as we did at the end of last season.

Disappointing that.

45 mins v 10 men and created little.

Moved ball too slowly, everything in front of them, nobody breaking lines/stretching them....too much conservative passing.

Thought Hendo and Fab both had stinkers....Trent too and Robbo looked so tentative and reluctant to bomb on.

Was great to be back at game though - first time since before Covid hit....just a shame that it was to see a disappointing performance.

Good guess was 13 from 33% possession, you would expect those figures to be the other way around.

He really did ref both teams by different rules.

Like I say it's not why we didn't win but it must be infuriating as fuck for the players
