The reasons to be optimistic about the new season thread.

Recommended Posts

We’ve got the best manager.

We’ve got the best goalkeeper.

We’ve got the best right back.

We’ve got the best centre back.

We’ve got the best left back.

We’ve got the best defensive midfielder.

We’ve got a captain to be proud of, on and off the field.

We’ve got, no worse, than the second best first XI.

We’ve got among the best centre back pairings.

We’ve potentially got the best front three (if Sadio and Bobby pull their socks up).

We’ve got the nucleus of a team who know how to win things.

We’ve got some good young players with half a chance.

We’ve got Anfield (when we make it count).

We’re a wounded animal.

We might yet sign a couple.

We’re not Everton.

Yorkshire Red is obviously bladdered!

I’ll admit to being moderately hung over. I’m still keeping the faith though.

Out with a load of Leeds fans last night. They’ve only signed one player as well but they think they’ll at least qualify for the CL. Obviously the deluded fools have no chance, but I admire their optimism.

Even if they are a set of clowns.

I agree with all of the opening post.

Despite all our issues last season, points wise, we were the best side in the league for 2/3ds of it.

I fully expect a strong season.

As delusional as The Ev.

Leeds will get EL at best.

Despite us currently not adding to the squad greatly, we have the best Coach, we will have fans back which will make the biggest difference than at any other club, and we are Liverpool, which is the biggest cause for any optimism.

I reckon I speak for a lot of old school reds who felt that no matter how shite we were the season before we always believed we were gonna piss the league this season because we were Liverpool FC.

Nothings changed. We will piss the league this season.

Well that's one down already. Sigh.

It’s Robbo, he’ll be fine. A quick douse of the effected area with Irn-Bru, followed by ten pints of heavy and a fish supper and he’ll be good to go.

We have a fantastic squad with lots of options,I am very confident for the new season(I always am).I have put my money where my mouth is and had £20 on us to win the league with Paddy Power  at 5/1

It's a fairly settled squad. Everyone knows their roles inside out. That makes bedding in a player like Elliot much easier.

The skewed home/away stats from last season weren't exactly a coincidence. This team missed its fans. Badly.
