Happy Yorkshire Day, YorkshireRed

Yorkshire's great, lived there for 6 years but we all know it is very much the wrong side of the Pennines

As the late great Jim Morrison said, the west is the best

I thank you. As, I’m sure, do all the other Yorkshire based posters. Even those we let live here, even though they have funny accents and ravish all our womenfolk.

We’re celebrating with a traditional Yorkshire meal this evening. A nice Lamb Rogan Josh.

I have much respect for people who live the other side of the hills. It must be difficult to keep up with the neighbours.

I love North Yorkshire, the history, the scenery, just a lovely place.

we used to have a caravan up there, and were there most weekends and school holidays from March to September. Had to give it up unfortunately.

I envy anybody lucky enough to actually live there.

"Dirty Yorkshire bastards!"

Yorkshire people are generally a good bunch to be fair. Well apart from Jimmy Saville and Peter Sutcliffe.

I’ve shared this before but my Dad was interviewed as a possible suspect in the Ripper case.

It wasn’t him.

Did he also love banging prostitutes?

Anyway, I also live in Yorkshire. It’s alright. I hate going to a gig and the crowd chanting “Yorkshire, Yorkshire”.

Great choice with Staithes, I love it there.

Sometimes gets a bit overlooked by the more celebrated Whitby and even Robin Hoods Bay but I think it’s got a special charm of its own.

Had a lovely family holiday there when I was but a young ferret.

They had a Yorkshire pudding throwing competition at York Maze, today. I’m not sure what I think about that. I’d happily throw Aunt Bessie’s in the bin but not good, homemade ones.
