How will they share the gold medal? Will they cut it in half?

That would be brilliant, Tone. When they inevitably get told to do that stupid photo pose of pretending to bite the medal, they would be able to pretend that the other half is shoved inside their mouth.

Men's 100m final

Zharnel Hughes sends a massive grin down the camera. He's relishing this.

Buckle up my friends. Here. We. Go.

Hughes false starts

Men's 100m final

NOOOOOOOOO!

A false start from GB's Zharnel Hughes. He's disqualified.

Great finish to the high jump there, and a surprise winner in the 100m. Good half an hour for the Italians that.

A British sprinter false-starting when the stakes are high is as predictable as Tim Henman double-faulting his way to a semi final defeat at a Grand Slam.

As in, he isn't just someone representing Italy to avoid having to go through American trials or something or some other convenient arrangement.

So, none of it then. Glad we cleared that up.

Moved to Italy when he was 5 and came through the Italian system. But despite those facts he’s not Italian or something like that!
