He was offside anyway wasn't he???!

Only by 2 yards

but I’m sure FIFA/ UEFA will have some stupid shit rule that means it doesn’t apply until after the defender has fouled him and not before

On a vaguely related point: white boots - what say ye? Joel is the latest player to start wearing them, and it occurred to me: they're either great or terrible for VAR decisions. They'll stand out and make it easier for VAR to see when you didn't foul - good - but will also make contact easier to spot - bad. So I guess the answer is: either wear white boots and make sure you don't foul, or don't wear white boots.

And now back to your advertised programme...

That was a decent game. Germany were the better team, but not by all that much. Some call-outs:

- Bellingham is a polished footballer with good technique but don’t think he’d be worth the cash.

- England fullbacks offer very little going forward. Not the setup to make the most of Trent’s assets, so I can see why Southgate prefers Walker in his system.

- I like Saka but he had a bit of a stinker, England lifted then minute Bowen came on.

Similar, attacker has to attempt to play the ball. Foul will be given if player is offside but hasn't made an attempt to play the ball (running towards it doesn't count for some reason)

(Didn't see it so don't know if that was the case here)
