Brazilian federal police with health officials walked onto pitch between Brazil and Argentina to arrest the 4 Argentines who travelled from England to play as they didn't quarantine. Farcical scenes and villa and spurs letting their players go just exacerbated the situation.

Been reading it. What a joke. How can they seriously expect clubs to release players and then treat them like that?

Complete farce.

The Argentines walked off the pitch 10 minutes in. Ridiculous situation that the authorities knew would be a problem. What was the point of having yet another Copa America in the summer? Just use the time to clear the backlog of South American qualifiers. It's bad enough that the South American national teams play 18 qualifying matches each, but then they fuck about with the Copa America thus playing a gazillion international fixtures every year.

Slobber chops equals Michael Owens England tally of 40 goals even though Owen scored one penalty and also scored against pretty much every top side in the world .

Plus if you put a gun to my head I’d be hard pressed to think of any memorable ones Kane has scored …Flat track bully if ever there was one

Thats fair points on Kane & Owen.

Rooney was the same as Kane. Filled his boots banging them in against shite and then offered nothing in international tournaments (apart from his first, 2004).

Kane won the golden boot in Russia because he scored 2 v Tunisia, 3 v Panama and then a penalty v Columbia.

He’s better known for missing from 6 inches v Croatia in the semi final.

Kane could say he scored in every knockout game in the summer though.

South America can’t ask to fuck about with the European schedule and then behave like this. Absolute amateurs.

It’s quite clear they can’t play the remaining fixtures in South America, certainly not this year. They need to sort something out - move the games to Europe or the USA or something. Play 1 game per window, allowing players to quarantine and then and then catch up in the summer. They all have 10 games left to play.

I think the Brazilian government has more to answer for with their preposterous quarantine rules.

Au contraire FIFA have now got a real fustercluck on their hands. Do they award the game to Brasil or Argentina? Do they order a replay, if so when? Are they going to sanction the mainly English clubs but also other clubs who didnt release players for these games? How are they going to reconcile all the inconsistencies they'll likely create due to whatever action they take or dont take?

Sit back and pass me the popcorn and a pint of Theaks XB!

I'd happily see a 3-0 win awarded to Argentina on the basis of government interference in football matters.

The Brazilian government cannot possibly have been unaware that some players would have been called up from countries on their arbitrary quarantine list, in which case they should have informed FIFA sooner that they would not be able to fulfil the fixture.

Could be worse...

Quote

Morocco's national team was escorted out of Guinea on Sunday night, where they were set to play a World Cup qualifier on Monday, after an attempted coup took place in the capital Conakry.

Following hours of heavy gunfire near the presidential palace, football's governing body Fifa and their African counterparts Caf postponed the game.

The Moroccan delegation was trapped in its Conakry hotel, where coach Vahid Halilhodzic heard gunfire 'nearly all day' as he told French media agency L'Equipe, as the country's embassy tried to arrange their safe passage out of the country.

The Moroccan team is captained by Wolves defender Roman Saiss and also includes QPR striker Ilias Chair and Watford duo Adam Masina and Imran Louza, as well as Paris Saint-Germain's Achraf Hakimi.

Hopefully Naby is staying out of trouble.

According to the Brazilians, the Brazilian authorities informed the Argentine FA and at least 4 players they had to quarantine for the required period on entering the country so I dont see how FIFA can award anything to Argentina if they disregarded that directive.

Sounds like a wicked wheeze to deprive your opponents of players to me.

Bellingham > Pogba

I wonder if we could fashion some sort of p/X with Dortmund for Keita.

Pogba is Keita without the injuries and with better PR. He's fucking shite and anything remotely decent he does is lauded like he's the best midfielder the world has ever produced.

Pogba on the odd occasions he fancies the job is top class . Keita never gets much  above bang average . He’s more like Fred with added injuries

They had to be in the country 14 days before hand in order to play but also in a different country 3 days before to play another match. This looks like it's on FIFA. Just give them 10 points each and be done it, knowing FIFA they will rearrange it to clash with AFCON.
