Doesn't even warrant a mention on the BBC website commentary.

It did

PENALTY APPEAL

Newcastle 0-2 Man City

How is this not a penalty??? Unbelievable officiating.

Joao Cancelo comes across to intercept a ball into the box...but then Ederson comes flying off his line to take out Ryan Fraser off the ball, getting nowhere near it.

Martin Atkinson said no and VAR agreed. How have they come to that conclusion?

As said above, they must have been very behind with their updates.

They’ve answered their own question

Chelsea are done if they don’t win here.  You can’t fall what’s effectively seven points behind City at this stage.

Realistically you can’t fall more than a couple behind. They’ll inevitably have the best goal difference by the end of the season and are never reeled back in once they get their noses properly in front.

City are nailed on to win the title imo I just don’t see any other outcome. I don’t fancy today with all the players we have out but irrespective of that the AFCON will do for us. City just don’t drop points.

I’d argue that they do, just not when it’s meaningful. Once they’re ahead and full of confidence, they have an aura like nothing ever seen in English football history. Most other teams shit themselves long before the opening whistle. It’s like being faced with the devil or a pack of fucking vampires - even in 19/20, we weren’t even close to causing teams to shut off in that way.

You need to get out of the blocks ahead of them and not ease off until they’re 15 points behind. Otherwise, it’s almost always going to be their title.

I think we’re good enough to go toe to toe with them but not with the AFCON
