My brother said he's the best striker he ever saw and judging by the his goal scoring stats it's hard to disagree with that but what I can't understand is that everybody keeps banging on about him missing the World Cup Final ?

I could understand it if they hadn't of won it but the fact his replacement scored the winner in the quarters and wasn't too shabby in the final then I don't get the crying about it. Especially when he also failed to score in the 3 group games

It’s a funny old game Stick.

I suppose it’d be like Kane not starting in a final and then Bamford scoring a hat-trick.

I’m sure Greaves would always look back on that game envious it wasn’t him.

I don't think anyone could accuse me of bias when I suggest anybody with an iq above 50 could see it was rightly ' Hunt and one other '.

Exactly my thoughts at the time.

that rag would have been the first to get a picture of a pissed Jimmy Greaves coming out of an East End boozer when he was drinking.

So very true.

Why are the renties top? We have identical stats including same number of goals scored and conceded. Is it sorted alphabetically?

They showed their title credentials after 5 games more than anyone else. Apparently.

They've played 3 of the traditional 'big six' and got out of ours with a point after being down to ten men for a half.

They might be being slightly overrated (and us underrated) but I'd put them slightly above us at the moment as well even with the exact same points/goals etc.

What happened to Alexis Sanchez?

30 goals in 51 games for Arsenal in 16/17.

Never understood his dramatic fall from grace.

The Bogarde, Özil, Aubumeyang, Michael Johnson, Firmino etc. trap. A big fucking contract.

Derby County staring into the abyss. One of the 12 founder members of the Football League, they're now £50m in debt if reports are to be believed and looking at a possible 24 point deduction which would surely condemn them to League One.

Any prospective owner of Derby County must plough more than £50million into the club just to clear their debts before spending a penny on the playing team, it's claimed as the full extent of the Rams' turmoil comes to light.

After years of financial woes, the Championship club entered administration on Friday night and will be handed a 12-point penalty by the EFL while a further nine points could be deducted due to financial irregularities within the club's accounts.

Derby owner Mel Morris has long sought a new owner and has attributed the Covid pandemic and the club's ongoing Financial Fair Play inquiry as factors behind his failure to sell up.

And The Athletic reports that any prospective buyer of the club will be expected to invest just over £50m just to clear the Rams' debts, with sources telling the outlet that the club's chances of liquidation are '50/50'.

It's claimed Derby's football creditors must be paid up to £10m, while an American private equity firm is owed a secured debt of £20m.

Yeah watched ESPN this morning, apparently they are the best in the league and Tuchel the best coach in the world.

Actually dont mind them being bigged up tbh. We can fly under the radar.

Chelsea are riding a crest of a wave at the moment. And so they should, they've just won the Champions League and paid £100m for a new striker. I bet confidence is sky high.

Let's see how long this lasts because Tuchel hasn't come up against any clubs, who'll be as consistently good over 38 games, as us or Man City have been.
