The attitude of bottling a 2 goal lead at home, giving up a comedy own goal and a terrible penalty that they were lucky City missed? Sure, great attitude.

Sorry, you’re right. It would have been an awful thing if more sides had drawn rather than lost to Manchester City. Is that better?

With the goal difference, that’s probably as good to us as a West Ham win.

Fair play to West Ham. Honest effort with a few obvious flaws. Compare to the pathetic efforts of Newcastle and Wolves.

Yeah. We were never going to win this on goal difference. We needed West Ham and Villa to get a result. One of them did their job today

I think the fact they had the league in their hands with that penalty and then missing it was huge. A real blow, it's the best thing we could have hoped for. We needed them to carry something like that going into the Villa game.

Big plus for us is that Steven Gerrard is the manager, he'll do everything he can to give us the help we need. He'll ask his team for the performance of a life time, for him. It's game on again!

This has always been predicated on them getting a loss and a draw, or two draws, and us winning. We just need to win our two games - we can forget goal difference now - and hope that fate is with us.

Er...that was ace. We're still alive in the title race, just about.

Win both our games + Coutinho 94th minute equaliser from a 40 yard freekick.

Fuck, if you're in for a penny, Jairz, so am I.

Just wonder whether that penalty save might be the glimmer of something.

How ironic if Gerrard ends up having a say.

They were going to lose this game being 2 goals up. They were lucky Mahrez bottled it.

It's too much of a fairytale for it to happen.

Reminder that Villa have to play Burnley on Thursday - they’re not going to be in a position to put up much resistance against a fresh City side.

You're right.

Perhaps we could ask the League if we could forfeit our last two games then, so we're fresh for the European Cup Final.

Villa play midweek unfortunately but hopefully Stevie gives them a week off.

I actually think if West Ham won, we would have scored a hatful against Southampton. Still, think they would have walloped Villa on the final day if we were in that boat, so very tough because potentially we would need to gain 11 or 12 goals in two games.

Now, I think it's a long shot but look football can be a strange game. It just takes a moment of madness and a player sent off for a stupid tackle,Villa score and the crowd on their backs...to be fair they are the most controlled team in world football so they will see it over the line but stranger things have happened. A few weeks ago North Macedonia beat Italy in Rome.

A 40 - 50-1 outsider chance but look it is what it is and if we do the business on Tuesday, it is final day nerves.

This week gives Villa more relevance than they've had for 40 years.

Realistically, I don't think we could have made up the goal difference. Two draws were always likely to be needed. So this is ok.

One last job for Stevie and Phil and Danny

Gerrard could do a lot worse than get in Coutinho's ear with the idea of total 'forgive & forget' among Liverpool fans if he were to make a substantive contribution to a result for Villa.

In fairness, Mahrez has plenty of previous in that regard.

They really annoyed me there West Ham, but they have done us the favour that City have to win on the last day if we beat Southampton. I'm more annoyed at how the game went.

Sent this to a Scouse mate:

Phil to bang one in top corner to level in the 95th, Stevie does a Mourinho slide down the touchline and rips his suit open Clark Kent style to show a Liverpool shirt underneath!

City won two last away games against Villa in the league just 2-1. Last home game was 2-0. Before that, a series of drubbing.

So if Villa score, with all the pressure, who knows. Also, it's not like it's a given we will win both of our 2 games.
