Lads. And ladies. Don't do it to yourselves. It's been a magnificent season and a joyous ride whatever happens. We've lost this season, but we'll be back for another go next season. That's all that really matters.

And we have a small matter of two finals to enjoy. Fuck everyone else, supporting this club is ace, and a real privilege.

It’s irreverent.  All this started with Chelsea and some of you can definitely say you wanted Liverpool to lose a league game to them to stop united winning a title  (The one were Gerrard obliged)

How many celebrated that Aguero goal?

It might be convenient to pretend it started five years ago but nope.

Id argue had it been any other side but Utd then the Aguero goal wouldnt have been celebrated like it was.

United had built a dynasty based on some great players but a with a massive amount of favourable refs (Webb) and opposition mangers that publicly fawned over ferguson virtually gifting them 3 points- Hughes/Bruce/|Robson/Allardyce/McCarthy/Hodgson/Pulis.

It was seeing them getting their comeuppance after so long.

Its not anything like us being denied

Ultimately it was that farcical period of the season with covid disruptions that proven costly. City were probably the only team unaffected...must've just carried on regardless of positive cases

Werent they only impacted for the FA Cup game against Swindon ? I remember some wankfest about 20 staff and players being out and what sort of team would play and they ended up with pretty much a first team anyway ?

It’s perverse to not win the league with 92 and 97 points.

And it sucks arse that we’ve had one of our best ever teams and managers while we’re having to compete with a bunch of cheats and, sadly, another very good manager. But, leagues are won and lost by a number of factors. Having to finish above cheats who will rack up 90 off points in 9 seasons out of 10 is the new norm now. And, while our points tally would win us leagues most other times, our draws (along with the cheating) are a big factor in why we’ll probably just fall short. If we turn just two of the shitty draws like Brighton, Brentford or Chelsea into wins then we win the league.

The danger is of the players getting disillusioned. Getting all these points and probably not winning the league might make them think “what’s the fucking point?” or it could motivate them. I think bouncing back from it once or twice is possible. But, after that? I can imagine it’d start to smart a bit.

For next season, I think City will be even harder to finish ahead of, sadly. Other teams will be better. But, Haaland won’t be their only business. They’ll have TV money, prize money, a decent wedge of Champions League money and they’ll probably get rid of players like Jesus and Sterling which will allow them to bring in another 2 or 3 top players. That’s without the cooked books.

It does beg the question of when the fans click on and see sense, recognising that having a team winning by 5 or 6 goals every week (could’ve been 10 tonight) isn’t really preferable to that team also being the one that stops us winning things. The Premier League is on the verge of being a glorified SPL.

It is still on!

West Ham 2-1 Cheats

Southampton 0-4 Liverpool

Villa 0-1 Cheats

Liverpool 4-0 Wolves

Liverpool 92 pts GD +73

Cheats 92 pts GD +72

Now this kind of frankly bonkers optimism I can get on board with. Touche.

No need to risk any of the key players against Southampton or Wolves now. Can't lose any of them like Fabinho the other night.

Real will pretty much have the rest of the month off until the final.

Youve burst my optimism again.

Agreed, it would just be asking for trouble - from goalkeeper to forwards, the risk is wholly unnecessary.
