I think you're confusing Modric's great ball with the strike on goal and what a keeper should be doing. I said Mendy didnt even move for the goal and a keeper should be moving even on a shot from 8 yards. It's not like the ball is way out of his reach either, it is close enough that if he moves he may get something on it.

 

Mendy made a great save from Sadio in the EFL final from about the same distance after saving Keita's shot. He still managed to get off the ground and block Sadio's follow up, managing to get the ball over the bar.

 

I think Real's first goal is savable and I think Alli would have moved for it. Mendy didnt even buy a ticket in the lottery.

Real are cruising La Liga so they can make sure everyone is well rested for the semi finals, blue mancs need to win every game so they will need to rotate at some point or risk burnout/injuries.

Just hope our lads take note of the fact that a 3-1 lead going into the home leg is no done deal.  Madrid were half asleep for most of that game and were saved by a very marginal VAR call.
