Has there been many flops for city though under Pep, seem to play the same 11 when I watch them

They've had loads of flops along the way. Don't forget they've been spunking silly money for over 10 years, starting with Robinho (remember him), Jo - £30m, Mangala £42m, Jack fucking Rodwell -, Jesus Navas, go back through their decade of transfers and there's loads of them. They even spent £50m on a mediocre full back not so loing ago who turned out to have - aleegedly a questionable (rapey) character. Doesn't matter, though - it's only money and they have a bottomless pit. Unlike those clubs, like us, who live within their means - and according to the rules.

And money also gets you (Barney Ronay, are you listening), competence. If you spend money like water for 10-12 years - and you gradually improve the standard of your off-the-field staff (nad bring in a £20m a year coach), guess what - your hit rate tends to improve.

Guardiola doesn't have to put up with the constraints that Klopp does. He doesn't have to go shopping for free transfer centre haves from Germany, or relegated Scottish full backs. He's been able to buy the cream of up and coming (usually also established international) talent  - de Bruyne, Sterling, Stones, Sane, Silva, Laporte, Dias, Rodri, Torres etc. Interesting that a couple of those names didn't stay long, genuinely no idea why that was.

By the way, lots of us on here were fully aware of these players way before City paid top dollar for them.

I'll give Guardiola due respect when he actually takes on a club that is the underdog, and is significantly out-resourced, and wins against the odds. Until then.....

That Cancelo’s worked out well and the alleged serial rapist was playing every week until the feds came knocking. We’ve just spent £36 mill on a 4th choice centre half too

An area we needed to strengthen, and looks a brilliant signing.

Not a comment to your main arguement, but you have an uphill battle on you’re hands if you’re claiming signing Konate was a bad move.

Spot on. I mean how hard was it in the earlier days of Abu Dhabi ownership when city wanted a player and the selling club went 'No!' that they upped their bids not by £5m or £6m but £10m to £15m then £20m because it's all just funded by self or intra nation sponsorship?

Villa put a £100m release clause on Grealish and thought no one including city would pay it. So what do city do, bit of haggling over payment terms and say to Villa, here's you £100m.

Who was the last 1st team player city bought for under £25m without the intention of selling him on? That Torres wasnt it, £22m, hardly played a game and they got Barcelona to stump up £52m with add ons or something? Fucking hell, some people say we did that with Ben Davies and we'll be lucky to get £10m for him. Bizarre world.

And by the by, where do people think Stevie's got all this money to burn at Villa from if not from city?
