We spent over £100m on Kieta, Ox and Thiago and never see them on the pitch

All clubs make mistakes in the transfer market. The problem is that with City there's no jeopardy in making such mistakes. If we make mistakes it really hurts our progress as we either have to persist in trying to get a tune out of them or take a big hit on the fee, which in turn has a negative impact on the funds available to replace them; whereas City can just write it off and go out and splash another 50-60 million on a replacement without a second thought.

I suppose. I think my annoyance is more with Klopp's misplaced, or unwarranted, loyalty rather than any particular games.

We know we can't compete with City's money. However, what the fuck are we doing paying Chamberlain and Keita a quarter of a million quid a week to do nothing? It just feels like we're pretending there isn't an issue and, eventually, it'll lead to a much bigger one than it needed to be. Half the squad will need to be fucked off.

We know what happens if you give Klopp actual resources.

He sees our weakness, buys the best CB in world football. Then he sees why we lost the champions league final, defends the idiot in the press, then immediately buys the best Goalkeeper in the business.

Football managers are generals, and no general has ever asked for fewer troops.

Has there been many flops for city though under Pep, seem to play the same 11 when I watch them

How many fullbacks have they bought in recent seasons who haven't worked out. It's too early to write Grealish off maybe but he's had very little impact so far; if any other club went out and spent 100 million on one player he'd have to be one of their key players and an instant difference maker.

That Pep signs quality players and will always get hit for a tax on the buying price

City's success has honestly little to do with who they sign, specifically. It's the fact that they have unmatched depth due to their riches and Pep's style is the most dominant and consistent. They just plug and play players.

There's a stat out there that in the last 13 games played with Stones and Laporte at the back, they've won all 13 and have conceded 1 goal. They don't even need Dias. They still win games easily when De Bruyne is out.

Exactly. Point is, even if grealish doesnt work out to any degree, city can afford it.

That Cancelo’s worked out well and the alleged serial rapist was playing every week until the feds came knocking. We’ve just spent £36 mill on a 4th choice centre half too
