I watched Match of the Day last night for the first time in years. The Liverpool goals aside, what a load of old shite!. Rubbish presenter and boring pundits. Crap commentators, VAR, stadiums lacking in atmosphere, pathetic goal celebrations - especially the whopper who ran to the crowd, with his hands around his eyes like a pair of fucking Biggles goggles, sprayed on, skintight, muscle-fit tkits, shocking footy boots. Klopp is great, and Salah, Van Dijk and co. come across as decent lads, but I just can’t relate to the rest of it anymore.

I agree. My love of Liverpool and football in general runs deep, but it was fashioned in a different time. If I came to it now, I don’t think I’d fall for it in the same way.

I know time can play tricks on the mind. It certainly wasn’t perfect back then, but it was real. This is a manufactured version of that and like much else in life it’s lost it’s shine.

Seconded. And a good post from Moanero in the first place.

It’s shite , I put the Liverpool game on it kicked off and we scored with the first attack even though 8 minutes of the game had been played then pretty much soon after it was 2-0.

They should go back to the old extended highlights of the two best games then show the goals from the rest

It was ironic that they showed Motson and Barry Davis sitting together in the stands as that was when the show was good…

You watch the Big Match Revisited on ITV 4 and it’s a million times better than modern day MOTD

And as for having Micah Richards on as a supposed expert pundit…
