Neither Henderson or Fabinho are ultra reliable though - i would expect both to miss at least a quarter of our games.

It is when that happens that we are then really stretched.

Which is manageable if we have five that are good enough. Milner plus one more is okay for me. Jones is sixth choice and gets games as and when.

There is no way we buy a midfielder without selling either Keita or Oxlade first.

No chance.

I’d happily get rid of both and their wages to buy a top quality midfielder to replace Gini.

Both have been a massive disappointment for different reasons (although Ox’s entirely predictable).

I’d also want to keep Milner in any capacity at the club.

Then whatever else deadwood we can get rid of we put that money (plus heavens forbid a bit from FSG) towards another young, quality forward.

I’m happy to take a money ball gamble on a backup RB.

I don’t think that’s a ridiculous expectation.

Would like a midfielder, it would be a gamble to not get one in. Not to the same degree as not getting a CB last season was, but still.

Would be disappointed if we didn't do something up top though. Feels like we're chasing losses with Origi and he's lost direction as a result. Best for everyone to cut out losses and find him a new home.

Origi has never been worth what we’ve wanted for him. We should have cashed in in the summer of 2019, I’m not just talking from our selfish point of view either, his career has gone backwards and i do feel a bit sorry for him. All relative of course, as he’s still got to take a level of responsibility for his own performances in this time.

i harbour similar views about Keita too, getting rid will be beneficial for all parties.

Origi’s time is done IMO, he’s given us moments, but we know that he’ll never be first choice. Keita’s story is a bit different. He’s never had an interrupted season since he arrived, maybe what he needs is a 10 game run to get going properly, or maybe not… my point is we aren’t gonna get our money back from selling him, let’s give it a proper go, if it turns out that he’s actually proper shite, then we sell next summer.

I don't think we'll buy a midfielder. The rationale will be that there are enough numbers there already, more chances for Keita and Chamberlain, and we have enough CB's that we won't have to put a midfielder there.

In Keita's case especially the big question is will he even be available to take them as they arise....history suggests not.

Time and time again when needed he has simply not been available - i appreciate finding a buyer may be very tough, but can we really afford to keep him around again?

Jurgen gives update on Virgil, Joe and Joel. Sounds like Joel is closest to resuming full training.

“No, they aren’t [at the same level as the others], but it’s different,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com. “Let’s start with: all four look really good, I have to say. Look really good.

“Now we are in constant talks with the medical department, the fitness department, the rehab department about what is right for them today: do they have to do maybe a little bit more than the rest of the group, do they have to do a little bit less?

“So, especially Virg and Joe will not have double sessions now for the first few days with the team; they have a second session of the day but it’s with Andreas Schlumberger, with the rehab department, physiotherapy, these kinds of things.

“That’s for these two. [They] look really good. I don’t know exactly when we can make the next steps but it will happen in the next four weeks, for sure – we will get a big step forward.

“Joel looks good, absolutely, he is the closest probably to normal training and then we will see when we get him started for playing.

“Trent was a serious enough injury but now not a major one, I would say. He is close but in the moment, probably the next five or six days he has a special programme: from time to time with the team, probably from time to time by himself. But then in five or six or seven days he should be in normal team training.”

Knowing Jurgen's dubious injury reports I am not expecting any of the three to play before Xmas.

My bet is that in the period up till Xmas we'l see Big Nat starting more games than any of our other CBs.
