Bruce (The name for the mechanical shark used in Jaws) was gay in real life. This came to light near the beginning of filming the movie when Vin Diesel who was originally cast as Chief Brody caught Bruce sniffing Vins socks. Vin left filming shortly after to become a professional car thief.
