FFS. And all because of another meaningless friendly the day after our first competitive game of the new season.

It's obviously not ideal, but we've still got Matip and Gomez, both able deputies to partner Van Djik, and both with sound injury reco.......

As you were.

Yes we have, for now. You dont want to lose a player who was becoming a regular before a ball is kicked in anger in a new season. Just ridiculous planning of a game.

Looks like months rather than weeks.

Fucking shite.

He was looking so good last season and was so important in helping us manage Matip's workload - which was obviously so helpful in Matipn staying injury free.

The knock on effects of this injury are likely to be massive now.

We've got Gomez fully fit, and Phillips as 5th choice.

Why does everything have to be so dire with you?

Gomez is extremely injury prone and Phillips is very limited.

You want to call it seeing stuff as dire - i just see it as being realistic.

Konate really helped with managing Matip's workload last season - the way they rotated meant Matip rarely had to play 2/3 times a week....put Matip back under that load and chances are he breaks down again.

Hopefully not of course and hopefully Gomez stays fit too - but history tells us in same way it does with Thiago and Keita for example that it is more likely than not that Konate's absence will have knock on effects on two very injury prone players who we will now be heavily relying on to stay fit...that, mate IMHO is not seeing things as dire, it is just going off what we have seen regularly before.

Well call out the manager then. Its clear he's not seeing what is obvious to you.

Our squad is mostly boss (midfield aside where i think we have quite a bit of room for improvement) but being as injury ravaged as we are at present is a real blow and the Konate one is IMHO big, big blow if it is for as long as rumoured - for the reasons i stated earlier.

That's it.

Hopefully Matip and Gomez hold up and get us through this period. Would be nice to see Gomez have an extended period where he is injury free, lad has had so much rotten luck.

The twitter machine is saying his injury is a lot worse then initially intimidated and he could be long term out. Some saying after World Cup. Some saying season is over. Worrying if even a kernel of truth.

Would explain why Big Nat is still here.

We massively fucked up pre-season & its nearly already ruined our season

Not sure about ruined our season, way to early to tell from my point of view. But our pre-season so far has looked very poor, agree with that.

Really needs to go the gym.

Any Liverpool player with his grotesque body absolutely should be ashamed of themselves.

Not sure which of the three you’re body shaming there, Kev, but I’ve already sent my complaint to Dave U.

This is beyond ridiculous. Every single game we play at least 1 player is injured. Jurgen said the other day that they had a super late call from the medical team about Jota.

I am not sure whether the medical department are just ridiculously risk averse and have too much say, they are following the trends from this company to rigidly or have a bunch of players that are ridiculously injury prone.

Whatever it is, something has to give in the summer. How can you make so many changes every single game and expect to be competitive.

At least give yourself a fighting chance. No wonder Jurgen was talking about waiting to see who was fit.
