Fucking hell Carasco.

After watching Lukaku stumble and run into defenders for the last 15 mins i don't blame him for not picking him out, but he really should have found Tielemans or just gone to the corner flag

These international tournaments now are simply won by the team that can shithouse the best. Portugal were the best shithouse in 2016, today Belgium shithoused them. France is still the ultimate shithouse.

Really? I thought Portugal were far bigger shithouses out there...

Good day today.

We get to to stop listening to all the hyperbolic fawning over Wijnaldum and Ronaldo.

Both were absolute dog shit too!

Not as shit as Bruno Penalties, though.

I can't think of another player who made such a name for himself on the back of such limited impact.

Add Ronaldo to the list with Roberto Carlos and David Beckham as badly overrated as set piece specialists

They are no Sinisa Mihajlovic

That’s just not true at all. Beckham is way up in the top 10 free kick scorers of all time in terms of stats. He’s still scored the most premier league free kicks I think too. Beckham was amazing with a dead ball - to say otherwise is revisionism and heavily bias led.

No real surprises but I’m going to go for Wales, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, Germany, Sweden.

50/50 so far, better than most of my predictions.

I wasn’t sure on Wales but I did think Bale & Ramsey would be enough. Netherlands was obviously a surprise.

Yeah I think Beckham was under-rated if anything. People just see this global megastar but he was a very good footballer. Scored a few against us at Anfield the bastard.

Beckham was quality. Overhyped to the high heavens for sure, but a very good player.

Yeah, I agree mate. His work rate and desire alone was unreal, but he certainly had some gifts to go along with that too.

He'll be grand after a break and some time on the training ground with Jurgen Norbert Klopp.

I thought he was poor in the games I saw. But he seemed under orders to give maximum cover to the left back and generally play safety first. It was unfortunate that he got hooked just when the negative Portuguese coach finally decided to release the hand brake. Crazy that Felix hasn’t had more game time, too. No worries about Jota when he comes back to us.

I think a lot of those younger Portuguese players will play a lot better when the whole team isn't set up just for Ronaldo.

Looking at the bigger picture, Jota seems the type of striker to date who'll score a good few in a short period and then go through a bit of a drought. You'd imagine it's something that will balance out given his obvious quality. For whatever reason, he's also looked better coming off the bench for us.
