You know, it would have been an incorrect decision, but back in the bad old days of football, of full stadiums and negative stodgy defensive bastards like Leeds and Italy - certainly well before all this advantage to the attacking team nonsense - this goal might have incorrectly stood because some baldy linesmen cunt didn't get it right.

 

Instead, in this wonderful empty stadium, Austria got the chance to at least pretend to score and at least pretend to celebrate... to, you know, do what comes naturally.

 

And then quite rightly and properly, science and technology intervened, and after a couple of minutes of glorious analysis.... justice was done.

Surrounded by in reality very average sides in the group stage I would guess making them look much better than they actually are? They were a lot less impressive against Wales than they were against Turkey and Switzerland.
