The ‘entitlement’ of the English press, is one main reason why no one wants the English to win. Bringing up 1966, once again. Really? This has nothing to do with Schmeichel but a lot with the entitlement of the reporter asking the question

No one?

Thats a pretty broad statement..."No one" ?? I am pretty sure quite a large portion of the population want to see them do well. Media in most countries are a self entitled bunch. Personally I not that bothered about international football but I think England winning would brighten up quite a few peoples days.

At least Thiago should now be available for the game at Norwich now Spain are out.

To be fair, he could have played all 120 minutes for them last night without it affecting his fitness. Don’t think he broke into anything more than a gentle jog. There was lads doing his running for him who had been on 110 minutes more than him. Was mental

I’m basing my opinion based on past comments of his as well. I think he’s a bit of a prick.

If I was an England player, I’d be wanting to shove it further down his throat tonight.

What about the game though mate?

Let me rephrase, no one outside England.

Why, are we going to pretend that the English didn't invent the modern game?

Haha, and one flukey World Cup decades ago to show for it.

Top brag.

How low will they go if England make the final.

Rub that cock (picture of a cockerel)

I haven't bought a newspaper for over 25 years, well I seem to recall buying one on 26th May 2005 to keep as a souvenir, but as I've never seen it since I'm not sure now.

I can't imagine anyone actually does this crap, "Hey Olive, quick pass me the newspaper, I've got to rub Harry's balls for luck."

"Oh Arthur"

Classy and subtle.

In case anybody doesn’t get it, they’re talking about erections.

You know? Erections? Some people call them boners?

Schmeichel's comment about 'has it ever been home' is one of those clipping you just pin to your dressing room wall. He might regret those comments around 10pm tonight!

Just stating fact though, isn’t he? His country have actually won it, England haven’t. It was a stupid question.

Maybe, but slightly ironic when you consider who we have in goal

There was no fluke about the World Cup win in 1966, England were legitimately the best team in the world. They weren't far off it in 1970 either, matching one of the greatest Brazil sides of all-time and only exiting at the hands of a German team that really did fluke a victory.

Regardless, it isn't "bragging" to talk about football coming home, simply a recognition of football's origins.

When the Olympics were held in Athens in 2004, the tagline for the games was: "Welcome Home". Because that's where the Olympic Games originated.

Nobody begrudges the Greeks claiming ownership of the Olympics; it's a bizarre double standard that resents England for reminding the world that football is their game.

Is it just stating a fact? Despite what people may want to think, England is the home of football as in its birth place. It's the same reasoning why FIFA recognises the English FA as 'the FA' because it was the first, not English arrogance.

As for Schmeichel's country winning it, yes they did. When they didnt qualify and were only admitted to make up the numbers when Yugoslavia who had qualified, were expelled from the competition.

Denmark were so unprepared they even arranged a game against us at Anfield as a warm up. Poor game it was as well!
