The Thing and Once Upon a Time in America, which didn't age too well.

It was one of my favourite films  when I was younger, but every time I watch it again, I like it a little bit less, whilst with Godfathers, the older I get I appreciate them more.

Not a strong group, in my opinion.

I've heard good things about Once Upon a Time in America, but I've never seen it. The same goes (but less so) for The Princess Bride and The Thing. Lost Boys is rubbish. Midnight Run and Planes, Trains & Automobiles are enjoyable (although both have passages of disappearing up their passages). Naked Gun is very funny, but - as a TV spin-off - not hugely original.  (Still, it's better than Holiday On The Buses.)

E.T. is the stand-out classic here. Spielberg is the master of manipulating the audience's emotions and he pushes every button with this.

Do yourself a favour, watch the Princess Bride.  Just as enjoyable for kids as for adults,  a real feelgood film with memorable lines and great humour. One of my all time favourite films.

E.T should be walking this

Don't think I've seen it since I was about 10. Maybe I should revisit.

Went for Princess Bride and Naked Gun. The Thing misses out by a mutated gnat's mandible.

I have never seen E.T. and probably never will. Looked complete shit at the time and still does.

In fairness, it's miles better than Star Wars.

A good family film without a bunch of trannies wrapped in tin foil and bondage gear.

I enjoyed ET but it's far from a great film and far from being one of Spielberg's best.

Nah, ET is the ultimate family film.

I'm maybe a bit nostalgic for it because it's the first film I can remember watching but it's pretty much perfection in terms of that genre in my opinion. I'm looking forward to watching it with my two boys.
