I have a ticket for the Palace game.

Every time I download it to my phone Google pay say "item cannot be saved on this device"

Any ideas?

Not sure what the exact situation is, but If it's to get a barcode up try a different app that usually saves loyalty cards in one place like stocard

Trust me, I'll be giving it my best shot.

When we're watching with our mates and we hear girly shrieks above the rest of the crowd noise, we can say, 'D'ya hear those girly shrieks? That's Rog from TLW, that is. He said he was going to give it his best shot at making some noise, and fair play, he's getting heard'

Best bet is when Robbo is whipping his balls into the box. Don't think we don't know you've got a thing for Robbo.

Last season's fixture took place in late June 2020 - with the lockdown delaying our coronation as champions. Our first post-lockdown game had been a goalless draw at The Pit, with both sides struggling for rhythm and effectiveness. We put that right a few days later with an emphatic 4-0 win. Mo and Sadio were amongst the goals as usual, but the standouts were Trent's sublime free kick to open the scoring, and Fabinho's second half Exocet missile from miles out. The players were superb that night, and could chill out the following night as nearest challengers City (of sorts given how far back they were) travelled to Chelsea. The Rentboys won, and we were finally confirmed as champions of England for the first time in 30 years. Those were some heady days amid the general carnage of Covid life.

Palace visited Anfield in late November 1992 in the PL's inaugural season, and the erratic Reds came away with a resounding 5-0 win. Souness' Liverpool had been miles off the pace in the league, had been knocked out of Europe by Spartak Moscow, knocked out of the League Cup (by Wimbledon I think), and would soon be knocked out of the FA Cup (as holders too) by Bolton in a 3rd round replay at Anfield. Against Palace though, all was good as John Barnes returned to the starting line-up following a lengthy injury. McManaman got two, and there were goals for Marsh, Rosenthal and Hutchison. Just writing those names emphasises what a weak squad we had back then! Marsh's from distance was a cracker, and McManaman's second followed a howler from Palace goalkeeper Nigel Martyn. The commentary in this video sounds like it's off The Fast Show's Channel 9!

Charles & Eddie were riding high at the top of the charts for 2 weeks in November 1992 with 'Would I Lie To You?' Decent tune that is still popular today. I think they were one hit wonders because I can't recall them releasing anything else. They were knocked off the top by Whitney Houston, who stayed there for the rest of the decade. It's an early 1990s quirk that if a song featured in a film with Kevin Costner as the hero, the song stayed at number one for aeons in the UK.

So we are at the final push. We sit in 4th place with a healthy goal difference over 5th-placed Leicester. Don't freak out over permutations, although matching or bettering their result will complete the job and salvage something from this ordeal of a season. It's a far cry from mood around the Palace game last season, but we can achieve the same outcome. We know we can get a cracking result against Palace, as scoreline-wise the contest at Selhurst Park was our best result of the season. More of the same please. Complete the job, and then get a good rest.

This is the last of the match thread entries of this type for me. The 'Number One' idea was to celebrate our status as top dogs, and bring a little musical nostalgia. It wasn't hubris on my part, just an intent to enjoy the team's achievements rather than stressing over games as I used to do. I've enjoyed making these posts, but it might be necessary to go back to more tried and trusted methods. Maybe another theme might come to me over the summer, we'll see.

That game in '92 was my first time on The Kop, I remember the Marsh screamer vividly.

Were you following the link from

the downloaded instruction sheet? I couldn’t get mine to work that way, but when I logged into the website separately I was able to download it, on my iPhone. It took me a while to figure it out

Thought it would be nice to parade the trophy before the last home game for the fans but it won't happen. Meanwhile those fuckers will be presented theirs in front of the fans. Shite season this for many reasons.

Parading a trophy we have already lost would be frankly laughable.

We're still reigning Champions and able to wear our champions badge until the last PL game of the season finishes.

As such, we're entitled to parade the trophy (the PL has more than one). So no, it wouldnt be laughable. What's laughable is people thinking it is.

Fuck it. Parade the 2022 trophy instead.

It is utterly laughable and thankfully the club won't be doing it.

It is of course not our fault we couldn't parade it after winning it, but to do it now would leave us rightly ridiculed.

Ha, since when have we been bothered what others think?! Ooh, we might be ridiculed by some nobs, better keep our heads down cos we dont want them to know they'd hurt our feelings.

Yeah whatever. Wonder why we havent taken our Champions patches off with that mentality. Sheesh.

It's OK. We'll have another chance next summer, only with the number 20 on the bus instead.

You download from the liverpool site and it is supposed to go to Google Pay

I had the same but the trick is to use Google Chrome, it won't work off the link to My Account the club's email sends you to. Open the website in Chrome then follow all the instructions and it should work

What the sodding hell have patches got to do with parading a trophy we are no longer holders of and have put up a pathetic defence of...and to top it off on the same day the new champions get presented with it.

The time has gone, lets win it again and hopefully get to parade it then.

We are Liverpool so we never do things by halves.

If we're going to have heartache, then it will be the full measure - we'll go up 2-0 at halftime and then go down a man to a dodgy red card and then give up an equaliser in added time or something.

If we're going to have joy, then most of the story is already written - down and out with 10 matches to go, only to somehow put together a huge winning run while our rivals collapse to let us back in, all capped off by a last-minute winner from our goalie and a header from one of the worst CBs to ever play for us but one of the soundest lads ever.

I look forward to seeing which it's to be on Sunday.
